Okay, here I go. I have never shared my weight loss struggles publically but since my private struggles have not worked for the last 20 years, I guess I need some support. I need to loose over 100 pounds. I am a strong woman in every other area of my life but a failure in this area. After a divorce 11 years ago I raised 3 kids and put them all through college. I work full time and managed to earn my own masters degree. I almost have my house paid off and have little debt - all on a teacher's salary. I should feel successful, but my weight makes me feel like a failure and I have little self confidence because of it. I am almost an empty-nester, and it is time to focus on me. I made this same pledge almost a year ago and REALLY worked hard at it (going to the gym 4x a week, walking, eating whole foods, keeping a food journal) but my weight pretty much stays the same. It took 8 months to loose 12 pounds, and it all came back in 3 months when I got discouraged and life got busy (my brother and best friend both died this summer) and I stopped the gym. This site suggested 2500 calories for me! I KNOW I will gain weight with that. I try to stay under 2000. I maintain at 1800 and loose slowly at 1500. I need support. Please help.
