Day 26 - 35 minutes/10.4 miles/136 watts/75 rpm

Worked the day shift today for the first time in a while, and caught 2 hrs of easy OT afterwards. I thought it would be a struggle to want to get on the bike, but this streak I have going has me addicted to getting my ride in. And somehow, I'm increasing the resistance and keeping the rmps pretty consistent. It's either better conditioning or my insanely competitive nature to do better than the day before. Either way it's working for me.

My little one (she'll be 20 in a few weeks) left to go back to college today. While on a group hug with my wife and I, she said how much she loved being at home. I almost broke in half, and if you'll let me explain... From having to leave her mother because of her alcoholism when she was only 1, to her moving away to Florida at 5, moving back up to Pennsylvania at 11, getting full custody of her at 14, her mother committing suicide a year later, protecting her from online predators for 2 yrs, my wife becoming the mother she never really had, to High Honors in HS, accepted to the only school she applied to with a presidential scholarship and honors scholarship, to now crusing along in her sophomore year. Love that kid.

Woke at noon and jumped on the bike 3 hours later. Over 500 calories out, which should equal or better any homemade breakfast I make myself. Anyone out there have recommendations on music channels that have songs with cadences between 80 and 100 bpm? Helps me pace myself. I hate when a slow song comes on and I was cruising along nicely...

I didn't record calories yesterday for Vday. I had Tropical Smoothie flatbread for lunch, Fettuchini Shrimp Alfredo for dinner, Pretzel thins AND yogurt with grapes for a late night snack. I'm sure my intake was over 3000, but I just didn't want to see it. Probably why I tried to ramp up watts/pedal resistance on my ride. Guilt is a powerful motivator. Today is last day of the 3 day weekend. Looking forward to Thursday as I'm going with 7 friends to a golf simulator after work. It will be a test to get my ride in afterwards. Stay tuned...
