Worried. Am facing the first really big challenge since starting the diet. From Fri-Sun i have an out of state conference (so no fat-fast challenge for me this weekend):(
That means multiple lunches and dinners that I'm not cooking, and I'm not even sure what the options will be. I'll be eating with foodies at some great places at least for two meals (and really want to partake in the yumminess). Also, lots of opportunities for wine. And (might be TMI) I get socially overwhelmed sometimes, so a glass of wine is a reaaaally nice thing to have at big events. UGH.
Keto has been going so well (11 lbs down in 25 days!), I would hate to blow it while out of town. Maybe if i manage to maintain and don't gain it will be ok. . .but if i fall out of ketosis, will i have another few weeks of keto-flu to overcome when i get back? Gah. Sorry for the fretting...wish me luck (and send over some willpower if you have some to spare!) hope everyone else's weekend is great, and look forward checking in on everyone's continued progress (y'all are so inspiring) when i get back. FloridaAngel and co-challengettes -good luck on the weekend fat fast!! :)

Yay!!! I was worried when for almost 4 days the scale didn't budge *AT ALL* but then looking back at my net carbs I realized why (oops) :) Been below 35 net carbs since, and weight began coming off again. Also am goofily proud of me because I went out to eat last night for a business function at a great restaurant -the business menu includes two glasses of wine, appetizer, entree, and dessert -and they expect you to have all the courses as they are feeding the whole table course by course. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants - their menu is full of insanely yummy things including these amazing potatoes deep fried in chicken fat (omg, right?). I only had one glass of wine, successfully avoided the potatoes (subbed in a broccoli slaw -which was better than i expected), ate scallops with cilantro pesto (healthy AND yummy) and had a few nuts and an aged goat cheese for my dessert course instead of their housemade devils food cake with chai icecream or their amazing creme brulee (ok, so that hurt a little). Managed to stay in ketosis despite the wine! And none of my colleagues even noticed i was dieting :) This morning i was rewarded by the scale saying i was under 130 for the first time in years (129.7 to be exact!) I rounded up, but assume by next week's weigh in I will be a stable 129 or maybe even 128 (fingers crossed). The BIG win will happen when my waist is back below 30". My waist started at 33" (medically obese according to my dr, given my bone structure) and am now at 31.5" --but would like to lose at least another 4 or 5" off of it (i'm asian and small boned, so that is why my goal weight and inches are so low for me to be considered a 'healthy' size). Enough babbling :) am just happy.

long weekend FAIL :(

i just realized i was WAY over my carb counts all weekend, no wonder i stopped dropping weight. *sigh* At least i didn't seem to gain much.
News to me -- hoisin sauce is EVIL. i had no idea it had so many carbs until i looked it up when i went to enter it (i had something called a "hog wing" on sunday at a restaurant -a teeny pork shank coated with hoisin sauce that was delicious, but i wouldn't have had it if i had known that hoisin is basically sugar). I also made Yotam Ottloenghi's famed "cauliflower cake" that took over the web foodie blogs, thinking that since it was mostly cauliflower, eggs, almond flour, and cheese it would be safe -but it apparently is also oddly high carb (according to a nice person who entered it on MFP -which is weird, where do the carbs come from, given the ingredients?). It was sooo pretty and sooo yummy, but surprisingly carby. Lesson learned - look up foods BEFORE cooking them/greedily shoving them in my mouth :)
This week - i will be much more careful and will try to stick to <35 net carbs/day.

Well, as i expected the weight loss slowed waaaaay down (and there was even a slight regain in pounds) after i got off of Atkins Fat Fast and turned to Primal Blueprint. But the food is better, in fact yummy enough to do this long term -and, after all, i am in it for the long term :) and i think i regained mainly water.
So, the good news - a little over 10 days ago i was 139 lbs and 45.5 lbs (33%) of that was fat (according to my nifty fat monitoring scale). Which, despite being a reasonable BMI, due to the fat percentage, is still medically obese (according to my Dr, i am 'skinny fat' and that is most definitely NOT a compliment)! Now i am 133 lbs and only 41.5 (31.3%) of it is fat. . .so 4ish lbs of fat lost in 12 days - i'll take it! if i am lucky, i'll lose close to a lb/week in fat...maybe a little less, realistically. Still - to reach my goal by May (120ish lbs, 20-25% fat) seems pretty do-able. The hardest part will be exercising just because right now, in the throes of keto-flu, it is really unpleasant to exercise. But i know the keto-flu will pass in a week or so, and then i can exercise more. I really need to strength train -even if it means i'll gain some weight, that weight will be muscle -and for me it is much more about getting to a healthy fat percentage than it is about a 'healthy' weight -because apparently i can be 'obese' even at a 'normal' weight for my height. *sigh*
