OK, so no tempting food pics from me. It is hard to make the bag of salad I have eaten nearly everyday for lunch over the past year look good enough to photograph. Suffice it to say, though, that eating good foods can look, smell, and taste fantastic and lead you to your goals!

It was a good week for me. I met with my trainer (from work - he runs our gym) for my quarterly "SMART check" and he was very encouraging. I have lost a tremendous amount of weight and my numbers show it. I chuckled at his shocked look when my resting heart rate of 56 put me firmly in the "athlete" category. Now the rest just needs to catch up with that metric!

Two weeks from now, I will celebrate one year since I re-focused my efforts at losing weight. My numbers from last year at this time were 240.4 pounds, 46.1 for my BMI, and my resting heart rate was 80. On Wednesday, I was at 189 pounds, 31.9 for my BMI and my resting heart rate was 56. Oh what a difference a year makes! That is the great news! The bad news is that the next 25 - 30 pounds will be harder and I will need to fight even harder for every pound that I lose. I have recently introduced more gym time to my life, so hopefully that will carry me forward for the next year. I do know that I feel better when I work out.

So FS members, it will be another boring year from me. I will continue logging my food, working out, and staying the course as best I can. It has worked very well so far and I learned long ago not to fix what isn't broken.
