Michelle450to's Journal, 13 March 2018

Went light today.. it was to busy at the gym got there later than normal. So excuses out of me today. Treadmill 5min3.3mph, Lat pull down 2 sets/12 Rep/85lb, seated row 2/12/70, butterfly 2/12/40, triceps (pully)2/15/60, biceps (pully) 2/12/50(realized the bar is about 10-15lbs today), lateral raise 2/12/#4, leg press 2/20/260, ab crunch 1/12/120(because someone set up.shop infront of it with dumb bells), leg extensions 2/15/50, shoulder presses 2/12/20, tred 5min/3.0mph, 3 minutes on the stair climber (19 floors), tree 5 minutes /3.3mph (5% for 1 min of that) people were wanting to talk and I just wasn't in the mood to talk.. I just wanted to hit stuff hard... wish I could find another time like Saturday around lunch where it's dead in there and e could set everything up and run the circuit hard and fast and zone out. Time flyings on Saturdays when I do that... well except the treadmill that feels like torture still. Although breaking it up was nice today. I had thought on Saturday to run the circuit and then put 5min treadmill at the end of each circuit.. then 10 min at the end... that would add 10 minutes of treadmill.

My personal trainer was even there and was talkative. I was trying to not be rude, but I just wanted to focus. Cause today was rough and just wanted to get my frustrations out in a constructive way by making myself sweat. Lol

Since you’ve started with the personal trainer, how much weight have you lost?

I haven't lost any weight, but this has also been the first time I have went to the gym as well. Even though I haven't lost weight I am seeing physical differences.

Exactly what I think too... I realized today I can dance again... Woot woot... Nothing like singing and dancing in the shower hahaha

One thing to keep in mind when you seriously start some kind of exercise program is that you will begin to build/tone muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. You may not immediately see changes in your wt., but will notice a change in how your clothes fit. Also, muscle is what burns calories. Fat does not burn calories.

Great job!!! I wish that the gym was cheaper here, I would join, but for now I made do with the things I have. I am so happy for you!! I was dancing in the shower the other night and realized that I could take a longer shower now because I wasnt hurting all over. It was so nice!! Keep it up, lady, youve got this!!!

Kenna - muscle does not "weigh more than fat" - muscle is more dense than fat. Michelle will lose inches and her body is transforming fat stores to muscle - but it ALL WEIGHS THE SAME. So sorry if I appear rude, but it is my pet peeve when people claim muscle "weighs more than fat" - just wrong.

At least you got yourself there!

Kylnn- A gallon of water weighs about 8lbs if you don't happen to have weights. And there are always apps... I used ' 0-200 squats leg trainer ' before I went to the gym. Starts you out with 3-4 squats at a time. If you can't squat find a chair and sit and get back up. My personal trainer said 6 pack is good it's 6 minutes of core work. The gym here is $30/month and all of then are the same price.. Conspiracy!!!

Hcb and kenna - technically your both right. A ton of feathers weighs the same as a ton of water, but if you look at the same volume then the feathers are lighter than the water

I am a total supporter of gyms, if you need that to stay motivated and can afford it. I do all of my workouts at home, with dumb bells and a mat. I use various exercise videos, there are a ton of free ones out there. Parks, stairs, trails = all free! I will probably join a gym after I retire, for the classes. Right now, my schedule is just too hectic.

Peasy- I am enjoying lifting heavier weights then I have at home

N0 offense taken.. many people just don’t get the density/wt nuance.. so I just used that concept that even though someone’s wt doesn’t change, their shape is changing and they feel their clothes fit better..I know,we all have stuff that drives us nuts.
