So for 3 months now I have had my period every other week. Meaning I am on a week off a week and then back on and so on.... I am starting to worry about what this means and hope someone can give me some insight. I googled it and found a few possible answers but I am avoiding going to the Dr. for $$$ reasons. We have no insurance because my husband works for commission. I also have been unable to lose weight for a month now. I know what my weight history says but it has been sitting at 161 for the most constant only going up or down a lb. So to anyone on FS that has any advice I would be thrilled to hear it regardless. BTW I am not pregnant just wanna throw that out there. Thanks to anyone who is reading this or offers advice in advance. :(

It could be many things: fibroids, polyps, thyroid problems, etc. The only way you will no for sure is to see someone. If it's your thyroid, you can have problems losing weight (depending on what's wrong with your thyroid). If the problem is effecting your weight loss, you may not be able to lose weight till you find out what's wrong. It might be worth the money to go to the doctor. You don't want to play around with your health.

If you are drastically cutting calories, you body might be freaking out and trying to store and conserve everything...I know it sounds weird but try eating more calories, just a few more...Your body because of the shock may be tricked into thinking it is time for your cycle...If it continues you I would check out a free clinic..they will make you wait a bit, maybe you can ask your husband to watch the kids for a little while so you can go...after all your health is the most important.

No birth control because it always has messed me up in the past. I am only 5'2 and 26 yrs. old so I am pretty sure it isn't my calories. My overall average is 1650 calories a day so I dunno.

Have you looked into some of the local family planning clinics? Sometimes they help in ways other than just giving birth control. What about your health department? Do they offer any public health care services? I've always had very abnormal periods - there is nothing predictable about my cycles, and losing weight has made them even more unpredictable! It could just be the weight loss, but you never know. :-/ I'll be praying for you!

i hate to put this out there - however it happened to me at age 24...i had level 4 polyups...they are checked with an annual displaysia test...after they were removed - things settled down again until i went through menopause at age 36...please go to a local clinic and get checked...i would not be here today if i had let it go without checking
