Time2FixMe's Journal, 29 December 2017

Hey Buddies, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! FS has been messing up and I haven't been able to see anybody's posts for a couple of weeks now.

This year I conquered something I never would've dreamed was possible, I became an exerciser! I logged 106 workouts this year, and moved more than 200 miles MORE than last year! Whoa! My mind is blown. Holy moly! Who would've thought I would do something 92 times in one year? I just completed my last Orange Theory workout of 2017! Last week I PR'd my mile time there as well while reflecting on the wild ride this year has been. As for next year, the fitness goal is consistency - get stronger, build endurance and run a 5K without stopping.

While it would be easy to feel discouraged at losing 'only' 16 pounds this year, I am delighted to know that I have dropped 3 sizes and am truly in the best shape of my adult life. I have learned that I am strong both physically and mentally. This will be my second year in a row entering into the new year less than the last which is a new trend. I now have a set of comparison pictures for the days I struggle to see that 40 pound difference and I'm astounded yet even more energized every time at how I'll look with the next 40 gone. This year was by no means a failure, but I'm confident that barring any more emotional turmoil, this finish line is attainable within the next year.

My weight has held steady 7 days into this eating fest with only 3 horrible eating days to go. In and of itself, that is a miracle! I've eaten all those once-a-year foods but my new, smaller jeans still fit. I can tell I've had too much sodium as my fingers are swollen. My wheels are turning and I can't wait to see what I will accomplish in 2018! My body is craving getting back on track.

I haven't had the time to sit down and prepare a list of things I hope to accomplish yet, so more to come on that, but my theme will be: live your life. The last quarter of the year has been devoted to discovering who I am, making connections and learning to live unapologetically. I am clawing out of feeling like I'm in a holding pattern and a big part of making the most of my circumstances began with controlling my weight. While I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, I am prepared to chase the dreams that are meaningful to me: love, travel, and fitness!

I'll be back on 1/3 for my first weigh-in of the year and I can't wait to here what y'all have in mind for 2018!
228.6 lb Lost so far: 40.6 lb.    Still to go: 54.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
