Even when you "cheat" watch your calories and cut back on something else. I started my diet in Jan and was only counting calories weigh really dropped from Jan through March had knee surgery in April followed by a month of rehab even though my diet was suppose to be low calories don't know what they had as my calorie base and I gained half of what I lost back! My calorie base is currently 1500 and weight is coming back off. I have tried every "diet" and " diet pills" out there and I failed to keep the weight off as I "craved" what I wasn't suppose to have whether it be fat, sugar or carbs. With multiple health issues and several specialists added to my list of doctors. Dr. Hamo told me about this site and told me to record every thing I ate (no diet) for 2 weeks to get an avg calorie count and beginning on week 3 try to reduce it by 500 calories. He also suggested I added coconut oil and suggested coconut tablets just to make sure it was pure and cold pressed. Weight is dropping again!

Evening CarolAnn! I agree, I think with age, we have to watch everything from carbs, to calories, to fat content. Cravings sometimes get the best of me and then I have trouble getting back on plan, but I'm doing like you and recording what I eat and have been doing 1 T. coconut oil in the morning with a shake/coffee....and it does seem to control the cravings--of course this is only day 2 back on plan! Now to get doing some exercise too! 1500 calories seems wicked low but I understand that sometimes that is what it takes....Congrats that the scale is moving. I definitely think low carb/low sugar/good fat is the best choice we can make to maintain our health and prevent further disease....Keep up the positive thinking...it helps too!!!!!
