EnriqueVA's Journal, 03 March 2012

My weight loss rate is slowing down a little even though I've greatly reduced my overall calorie intake since I started this in January. I was expecting some slow down because I'm doing more weight training, because I'm getting closer to the last pounds, and because my body and metabolism seems to be adapting and slowing down a little.

My weight goal is still 200lbs, now I need to focuss more on reducing my overall fat tissue, and it seems that I'm stuck at 208 now for the past week and a half. Regardless I need to continue with a net -1800 to -2000 kcal/day, keep each meal under 20g carbs as much as possible to reduce insulin spikes, try to reduce some fat intake even more, and keep up with proteins and fiber.

I also need to do some research about the reasons of why my body is adapting to this lower calorie intake. I'm sure part of it is my genes trying to make sure I don't go into starvation mode. My metabolism is probably saying: "We're loosing all these fat tissue something is wrong lets try holding off as much as we can so we don't die", so as a result those last 8 lbs are being a PITA.
