kingkeld's Journal, 18 February 2012

So, traditionally, today is the day I reach a new low. Well, not today. Not even close. However, I feel that I am in a good place about it, I know (mostly) where things went wrong and I know what I need to do about it.

I will first of all skip Indulgence Day today. I had it Wednesday - though not intentially - and I don't need another one already. I might go slightly over my calories, as we are having guests for dinner tonight, but it won't be a full-on Indulgence Day. I have no intentions of going shopping, and there is NO chocolate in the house, other than cocoa powder which I use in a shake now and then. Even that I will try to steer clear of.

It's 7:30 am, and I am trying to hold off a little eating breakfast this morning. Normally, we wake up a little later, and get going on the food right away, but since we're up early I'm a little concerned that I will just end up being hungry again WAY too early for lunch.

So instead, I ate a small pear to get my metabolism going, and I'm having über-delish almond flavored coffee, and chit chatting with Wife as she is organizing one of our living room cabinets. Good times.

Eventually, in an hour or so, breakfast will be a vegetarian omelet, one of my weekend morning favorites. Low on calories, and oh so tasty! I might even make a larger one and have the other half for lunch.

I'm not sure what dinner will be yet - but my snacks throughout the day will be smoothies from frozen berries and 0.5% milk. Great on the calories, and a new favorite, I think.

Today's gonna be a good day. I'm ready for it.

As you can probably tell, I'm determinted to get back into the 70's. I'm almost there - 80.2 kgs this morning. I would REALLY like to be back around 77 kgs for next Saturday, so I can feel that I am on target again.

This week has been frustrating. First of all the crazy cravings. They've been unbearable - which is what made me give in. Second of all the crazy weight gain. I hate to see the numbers climb like that. It feels like I am totally dropping the ball, even if I know that it's just a day of doing so-so and a day of doing bad that caused it, and that I am already back on track. I hate the way I get punished by the scale for several days after the fact. I guess I just have to accept it and be happy that I moved on already.

I will also cut down the exercise significantly. I will do the HIIT three times this week, and that's it. This is gonna be the tougher thing to do - to NOT exercise. I hope I can do it. Wow - who knew that I'd EVER be saying THAT!?! :)

Anways, it's family time at the Kingkeld Manor, so I will leave you guys for now.

Today I am thankful for
- being back on track
- A good night's rest - AGAIN!
- Almond coffee
- Hanging with Wife

Have an awesome weekend! Life is good!

Good job Kingkeld. Have a great weekend. I know it is hard to not exercise like you want too. I miss my walks a great deal. I had my omelet already. I may be a good husband and make the wife one when she returns :-P

I love omelets! I think it's a great weekend treat for me, and it's something that I really enjoy cooking. Plus, we get to clean out all the vegetables and leftovers that we have in the fridge. It's a good deal all around.

Hope your Saturday is going well. Sorry you have to miss your indulgence day, but it sounds like you'll have fun without it and be happy to have results more quickly this next week. I'll be waiting to find out what you think of HIIT. I've been thinking of adding some to my routine too.

The way you evaluate your journey is right on point. You are so right. Do not let that scale discourage you. As long as you are back on track it will follow suite in no time. I completely feel your pain. I have not gotten to where I should be b/c I have let my indulgences get the best of me. You add one so so day to a week that also has a high indulgence day and the scale will give us bad news. I think what we have to focus on is staying on track and not letting that scale get the best of us. We know we have it in us and will win the War! Have a great weekend!

Saturday went great! I managed to stay (almost) within normal day RDI. Not bad for a Saturday... Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good. I will go to bed feeling accomplished and on target.
