warrenwinter's Journal, 19 October 2016

Well, my surgery gets closer and closer. I had a nice dinner, after fasting most of the day, over at Yiannis Greek in Claremont. Funny, the guy says his credit card machine is down, and asks if I have cash. I had about 4 courses and a glass of wine. Food was pretty good. Meat was a bit tough. There is a real nice place in Ontario, near Ontario Mills, but that was 15 miles away, and I wanted to support our community. Have a great day, everyone. I hope you like the pics!

I had the last item on this menu, Gyros!

.....and finally the dessert, which was small, but really tasty!

I love Greece and I love Greek food. I can't wait to go there again. Are you all prepared for your surgery? I have mine on December 5th. It was delayed so I'll have to go for another pre-op as the one I had in August would be out of date! I shall be thinking of you on Friday :)

Doobrie, I was curious when yours was, because I knew it was close in time to mine. I am as ready, as can be expected. lol I will let you know. Thanks, my dear! Thanks, Philly Sue! I'm a tough guy. Thanks Maine Coon, and I hope you recovered from the storm. XssX, If I saw that pretty face when I wake up, I would think I was in heaven. LOL Oh boy, what a line!!!!I should get one of those gold stars, that the teachers give for that line. One of my friends calls me The Doctor, because he says I am the master of talking to ladies. lol I do want to try those you chose, I bet they are excellent.

Incredibly expensive!!! With prices like these he would not have a single client if it was in Greece. Gyros (full meal) costs at most 7 euros.

Well, he doesn't need too many like me. lol You saw what cost $50 with tip.

Lovely looking food but the prices seem steep. Although if you enjoyed it then maybe that's the right price. Thinking of you on Friday - hope all goes well x

My wife and I, can have wonderful entrees 2 for 1 at Mimi's French Cuisine, and get out for $25 anytime, any day.

Thanks Phooka! I will try it again sometime, maybe when I go downtown LA, when I go to the doctor.

Counting the days now. Makes a body anxious. We are all thinking about you. Your dinner looks outstanding! I would have to travel at least 100 miles to get greek food.

Looks very similar to Athena in Tyler, Texas. The prices are double, though. http://www.athenagreekrestaurant.com/traditional-greek-favorites Love Greek, especially spanakopita.

Thanks, Phil! Just off the phone with a friend, and he tells me, the best Greek food he has tasted, at a great price, is walking distance from my house. Things change so fast around here, as the U of La Verne is close by.

Thanks Rhontique! I need to explore my neighborhood more. I hope to be fine. We are going to Hawaii for Thanksgiving, so I need to get well fast.

Thanks, XssX! You are a dear! You ever had endoscopy? I had some reflux and irritable bowel. I thought it was weird I had it in my late 30's. That was when I took xanax for the procedure, and realized why my mom got kind of an addiction to it. I haven't really had problems with that since then.

You know you're old when you watch Body Beast commercials, and you are just happy for what the people are doing for themselves. lol

LoL Warren! Yes, I've had endoscopy(s). I have my share of GI problems (too many to talk about) and I have also had a colonoscopy as well, and aside from a bit of embarrassment just knowing they were going/just went up my butt it wasn't half bad (I was completely asleep and felt high when I woke up...ummm-never tried anything but anesthesia, lol)
