Well, I upped my carbs and it definitely shows! I took a small break from strict carb control, now it's time to buckle down and get back to my routine. Life's been going well. Ive been feeling great, and even had a couple girls' nights out. In Overton Park here in Memphis, they do free summer concerts every weekend. This was my first time going and it was so much fun! The band was called The Record Company, and they were AMAZING! Super talented guys... We got to meet them after the show, they were very nice and down to earth. Me with the band...

Thanks, Engeland! It's nice to get out every once in a while... That was the first time I had been out with friends in years. Sometimes when we become mothers it seems like we forget that we're still individuals, but I'm finally remembering 🙂

Hey I didn't know you were from Memphis I fell like I'm talking to someone from home. I spent the first 36 years of my life in a small town across the river in AR called Harrisburg it's about 70 miles west of Memphis. I spent a lot of time in Memphis. Of course the last time I was home there was a lot of changes to Memphis. There used to be some great places to eat and drink in Overton Square.

Sorry for the late response, I was out of town. @Addie, I've heard of Harrisburg, but never been there. I just recently began going to these concerts at Overton Park, but so far I love it! It's odd, because most of Memphis is awful, but the Park is great! No hoodlums or idiots wearing their pants sagging off their butts. No cursing or rude people... It's like a little hidden gem 🙂

I lived there for a few years, I used to love Beale Street on Saturday nights and going in and out of the blues clubs. We used to go to concerts at Mud Island when it was first built.....I think that was back in the mid 80's. I lived in SouthHaven MS.

I like Southaven. It's actually booming right now. It has grown and changed dramatically over the last 10 years or so. I think a big reason is because so many people are trying to get out of the city. I actually live in Drummonds, which is Tipton County, and love it here. It's north of Memphis, but still very close.

I worked for a cleaning company there, we had John Grisholms law office as our first stop of the day every Thursday, this was back before he published his first novel, but he was writing it. No one there ever thought he would do well, I was so surprised when I saw him on the best sellers list a few years later after we had moved to Florida. Small town boy makes the bigtime! I think he might have put Southaven on the map :)
