Well after a weekend of celebration with some really good food and a lot of drinks it's to be expected. I'm sure some of it is water weight seeing as how my fitbit is tight on my wrist. My husband and I took a weekend to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. We headed up to Fort Davis and spent most of the time at the McDonald's Observatory where we had a blast! When we got to Fort Davis we checked into the room and then after ice cream (which wouldn't be the first time we had ice cream) headed to the observatory. There we took the solar tour. We got to see the sun, with it's sunspots and clouds. Very interesting stuff. Then they took us on a tour of two of their telescopes. It was so cool. When we saw they had a star party planned for that night we just knew we had to go. We went back to Fort Davis for dinner. On the way back to town we saw a herd of deer and a bit further down the road we saw a bunch of javalinas. I hadn't seen javalinas in years! After dinner (linguine with scallops and shrimp served in a creamy dill sauce, after which I had a lemon tart for dessert and my husband had chocolate mousse, both very delicious) we got ourselves back to the observatory. They started the star party with a constellation tour, fabulous! Then they had telescopes set up where we got to view: the Andromeda Galaxy, a young star cluster, an older star cluster, the Devil Star, a ring nebula, and Uranus. The ring nebula was so beautiful! And it was cool to see another planet not to mention another galaxy. We want to go back in April or May because then we will be able to view Saturn. WOW!!!! After the star party we went back to town and spent some time at the Blue Mountain Bar. White Russians, Bahama Mamas, and Tequila Sunrises were what I had, hey it was a celebration. Then the next day we had breakfast at the hotel. Then we did some shopping and went over to Alpine to visit our eldest daughter. We took her and her boyfriend out to lunch at a local burger joint and then after more ice cream. So all in all I'm not surprised at my weigh in this morning. Now I just got some work to do to get back to my target range. I hope y'all had a great weekend and have a wonderful week.
