Nice loss, Deb! 👏 Got my workout in late yesterday evening. I hate that Zumba doesn't start until 6 p.m. My favorite time to lift is between 12-4 p.m., but I refuse to make 2 drives to the gym, which is 30 minutes one way. Anyway, I was talking to the Zumba instructor yesterday for the first time, really. She is 63 years old with a metal rod in her back! I was blown away! I would have never known! She looks to be in her 40s.

Our bodies are amazing machines Zen and it's awesome what they can do if we are willing to put in the work to feed it and care for it properly. Once upon a time doing that was intuitive, now what we are herded into by the fake food industry makes everything harder. We can survive on the fake food, but we can't thrive on it, but our bodies fight our bad habits for years before finally reaching the breaking point. Some folks learn early and take action sooner, sounds like your Zumba instructor is one of those!!

So true about our bodies, Deb! Unfortunately, we have lost our mind/body connection, too. Learning to listen to the body again feels almost like a super power...lol. I've got a gym shirt that says "If you see me talking to myself, carry on. We are having a team meeting" I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! 🤣

congrats Deb, so your great I'm going to try this challenge but I don't have weights but I do have the bands I can try to make do...

@sara I'm so glad you joined us! Bands will work fine. Body weight exercises are great too! There are lots of ways to modify them. Progress is key, no matter the starting point! Hevy is a great app to learn different movements for different muscles from. They have band movements & body weight movements as well. You can keep your profile private, if you'd like. ...or even go incognito by using a different username.

Sara, with the right training, bands can be just as effective as free-weights, I'm just learning all this stuff and found I was not utilizing my bands to the full extent, my workout yesterday was ONLY bands and body weight and honey, it was a workout!!!! Check out this video about how to get the most out of your bands. A lot of them can be modified to chairs too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J1EN5oVIFQ @Zen I love that shirt too!! I would wear it!

@Zen I think I am going to bypass my mobility workout this morning and opt for some full extension stretches, I might do the calf raises because I did not work them yesterday. I think I may have over-done it a bit, pretty sore, especially in the quads and my shoulders are stiff. Stretches should loosen me up!

@Deb That's good as long as it's gone within a few days. Nice job listening to your body & changing up things accordingly! My schedule got messed up last week bc the BIL came for a visit, so there was extra cleaning & preparation to be done for that. So, I missed Thursday & Friday's workout. I slipped out to the gym Sat & Sun instead while the hunny played the primary host...lol. I was thinking arm day today. Then I meditated on it. That would put me on leg day & zumba tomorrow. There's no way I can do zumba & leg day on the same day! Uh uh...lol. ...or make that drive JUST for Zumba. Another NOPE! So, I'm taking today as a "rest" day. The grandkids are coming this weekend. We are doing Christmas early for that reason. I've still got gifts to wrap & things to do to get prepared for that. Today FEELS like a good day to get that done. I haven't done a good job getting on my 18/6 fast. I may have to scrap that plan altogether...lol. My body (not my mind) is like FEED ME the past couple of days...lol. Maybe, just maybe, it needs some building blocks for muscle growth, so I slung it some protein bricks! 🤷‍♀️😆

...and I know that at least one of the grandkids is not leaving if he can manage to get here. 🤣🥰 I will have him all next week, but hopefully my other son will help watch him so I can make the gym. 'TIS THE SEASON 😅

yes yes it is!!! I got my calf raises in, did my 90/90...man that almost made me scream till my quads lengthened out, I'm looser now and not making an ugly face when I squat down to pick something up. Tis the season for disruptions, celebrations, company and grandkids...I don't have any of those, but it is the season for them! Enjoy your day Zen, I gotta go throw some mail!!!
