Good Morning FS Warriors! This is why I don't weigh every day, all the tiny ups and downs make me crazy even though I know I lost a lot of water the night before and some of it was replaced. Today will be my last daily weight in, I'll be going back to Sunday weigh-ins so I won't be glued to the results of this scale!!! I did want to see how my progress was while I was weaning off of bread and sugar, but now the scale is starting to make me obsess a little bit like it did back in the day when I stepped on it 10 times a day. When you have tendency towards addictive behavior it can manifest itself in so many ways!! I prefer my addictive behavior to manifest in something positive like my art, not in standing on a scale all day 😜 Coffee is good! I'm on my second cup and I am planning on having a pleasant productive day and I am kind of excited to be embarking on a planned fast! Hubby is too, I think he wants to eat out for a few days, he actually asked me when I was planning on going back to fasting, he says I can help by having my junk food away from the house. He is a thoughtful person and I reminded him that I will probably be "irritable" again and probably worse since my stopping the sugar and bread was recent and abrupt....there really was not a "weaning", I was eating it, then I stopped. He said he would take my hangry days over my sugar-burning days anyday, because when I am doing regular fasting, I have more energy and I wake up in a good mood and ready for anything. When I am eating badly, I wake up groggy, bitchy and in pain and he said he has to watch what he says or I will bite his head off. WOW, I had no idea he paid that much attention to me! But he is correct about how I feel in the mornings, the difference between the two is like night and day! So with the assistance of my poor abused Hubs, I will be embarking on a journey to find the Fasted-Deb and get rid of this crabby sugar-queen! Ya'll have a great day!

So awesome that you have a supportive husband who gets it and wants to help you, for the both of you. You will feel so much better in the end and come out stronger and healthier!

Coffee is amazing. I remember when I smoked, there was nothing like coffee with a cigarette. I rarely think about smoking anymore. I will never stop drinking coffee. It's rumored to help stave off dementia, but even if it caused it, I think I'd take my chances 😆 Have a great fueling day today!

I have my first coffee in my PJ's, then when I go in to shower, I'm off by a mug full. So, it's a rare morning that I actually weigh in before coffee. I don't like to post unless I've got something to show.

Wish you success on the weekly weigh ins! That’s a hard step and maybe wean yourself at first like Monday Wednesday Saturday? Or Monday Thursday? Just an idea.

Thanks Ken, but I don't usually weigh every day, I'm going back to my usual once a week weigh-in. I was doing it daily for a restart after a month of wretched eating after a case of covid. Thanks guys for the support, having a simple omelette for dinner just because I'm not really hungry....I think my body is anticipating the fast too so it's tamping the hunger already 😁 I love it when everything is on the same page at the same time!

Good morning, Deb! I feel ya on the daily weigh-ins. I have a love/hate relationship with them...lol. You have such a thoughtful hubby! It's nice to have someone who pays you that much attention. Personally, any time I've fallen off of keto & was trying to get back on track, it always helped me TREMENDOUSLY to have some emergency fat bombs made with coconut oil on hand. I imagine myself telling my energy burning system, "Nope, no sugar for you, but here, have some nice easy burning fat & learn to live with it." Coconut oil & mct oil are truly the best transitional foods that I have found. They help take away my cravings immediately. Idk why I'm rambling. I know you're not new to the game, and know what works for you. You've got this!!! (Where are the cheerleader and pompom emojis when you need them?) Have a great day, sis! 💜

LOL Thanks Zen! I stopped using the fat bombs and such way back when, for me bone broth is my go to for "filling-in" when I feel like I need a boost. The sugar craving is diminished now...I think our body has a memory and the sugar was foreign to me for several months and only reintroduced for one month, actually half of one month because I didn't start it till week two of being ill. I'm in a good place mentally today, 24 hours here I come. Today won't be such a reach for me because of OMAD for the past week, it's just one meal I am skipping today, so no issues!, we will see what tomorrow brings!

That's awesome news, deb!!! 😁😊

Bone broth can be included with your fast if you need it to get through a day. There is controversy whether or not it slows autophagy. Have been watching The Traditional Skills Summit and bone broth is something I intend to keep on hand from now on, not just for breaking long fasts.

I use it occasionally when fasting Lady D, moreso if I have not fasted in a while like this time around. When I am in the zone I don't really need it. I got kicked out of the zone hard so I think I will need it this time around.

Bone broth- ugh. I've tried to include it in my regime several times. I just can't... At least not without some rice or potatoes & maybe some gravy added to the mix. 😏 Then, of course, it tastes lovely...lol.

LOLOLOL spoke like a true carb addict Zen!! I love you! So, it is definitely an acquired taste. I have a freezer full of deer bones I use mixing in some pork and chicken. The deer processing guys looked at my hubs like he was nuts when he said he wanted the leg and rib bones cut into 4 inch sections and packaged in 3 pound portions, but they have come in very handy!!!

@Deb, that's what I was thinking. It's really hard to get back in the fasting groove after "carbing out." @Z, I'm puzzled - my bone broth tastes like my gravy - maybe it's the mouth feel you don't like or it's undersalted 🤷‍♀️

I don't weight every day because I am senile which is good in my case. LOL.

@Deb... Yep! That's me! 🫠

@Lady... I've been experimenting with xanthium gum lately. Maybe that would help...

I add herbs and lots of salt to my broth and I love it. It is pretty bland without that.

Deb - I only made it 20 hours today. I guess I wasn't super motivated for a long fast. The leftover wings in the fridge were calling to me.
