I lost a very dear friend and climbing partner… the only way to peace was to exchange loss and loneliness for gratitude for the good things experienced and learned…
We are clear that alcohol is a coping mechanism for some, but know it is counter to solving, or at best useless to helping any issue.. why do we not not apply that clarity, to food?

so sorry for the loss of your brother. it's so hard. I'm an emotional eater, so those death anniversaries are extra tough.

edb i actually had that talk with mt brother yesterday. hes a functioning alcoholic and is going to get help. i have a food addiction that ive mostly learned to control. everyone copes differently...sorry for your loss
