Good morning FS Warriors! WOW!!! I must have had some type of Whoosh last night. I went to bed at 10:00 and by 12:30 I was hit by the need to pee every hour for the rest of the night! I also had a rather substantial BM. I have not been having those very frequently since my 7 day fast. I am feeling much smaller and I have a TMI NSV. My full coverage cotton underwear have never been able to reach my waist. I would place them under my ostomy appliance so it would not put pressure on the center of my bag. Now my underwear come above my belly button and encircle my waist rather than just covering the lower part of my belly. This is awesome because now when I put on my pants there is no need to reach in and adjust the bag because it rolled up or wrinkled. It lays flat against my skin as it is supposed to. If you have ever had a loved one who had to deal with an ostomy appliance then you know how awesome that is.....since it carries a kind of taboo stigma as far as everyday conversations, most of you won't even know what it is....but that is ok, just know it's a reason to celebrate!!! 💜💜💜 Sipping my coffee and looking out over the rain-washed yard, we have a heat advisory coming back for tomorrow, but right now we have had a lot of rain, everything smells sweet and clean and the frogs are still singing joyfully. I will be posting measurements when I get dressed and we will see where the Whoosh came from! Have a Fast-tastic day. I will be breaking mine soon and we will begin our eating days with an uptick in protein consumption and we will see how that goes!

That's great news! My mom (rip) had a permanent urostomy when she was battling bladder cancer. And my dear friend just had her (luckily turned it to be) temporary ileostomy reversed as she's healing from colon cancer. Yes people don't like to talk about them. There is some more information out there now and even 20 something's sporting the look while they show you life is still as fabulous as ever and no need for a stigma. sorry for my long winded reply to your post. I really am happy for you!!!

Oh yes! I have seen the Swimwear calendar they came out with a few years ago with the appliance showing and folks enjoying time in the water and out in public with no shame and living a full life, because they can, the bag saved my life and it has made life better for many folks with IBS, IBD and Crohn's disease.

So I posted my measurements, could not ID where the woosh came from, I forgot that it takes a few days for the empty fat cells to shrink back up but I believe it's going to be in my arms and hips region because those areas feel like they have more loose skin at the moment! And really, it does not matter, I will take all shrinkage, even my boobs!

Protein uptick update! I went to the max of my protein range around 128 g just to see what eating that much protein would be like. I had an omelette for breakfast with 4 eggs and a sausage link, very filling no issues finishing it. Went outside and carried cinder blocks for hubby while he installed them to keep the doggos from digging under the house, that was two hours sweating and moving in the steamy heat. We came inside when the temp hit 95 with a heat index of 104, it was just too much, tanked up on water and cooled down under the A/C. Hubby got up and started rummaging for food and I decided I had better do my lunch. So I had decided to finish off my salad fixings in the fridge and I was gonna have canned Salmon on top of it. The weight of the salmon after draining the juice was 400 g. I dumped it all in the salad it would take me over 128 g of protein but it was an experiment so , I use sour cream for my salad dressing, watered down with a little ACV, so I topped it with the dressing and commenced to eat. I could not eat all of it, I ate and ate...forever it seemed and when there was approximately 60 grams in the bottom of the bowl, I had to stop. I could not eat another bite, stuffed full. So most all that was left was salmon, so I subtracted the 60g from the meal total and lo and behold, I am at 127.5 g of protein. That is the high end of my protein curve, my .8 amount is 104 g. That I believe I can do without busting a gut trying to eat it all. That is all of my eating today, I don't believe I could get hungry again if I tried.

The focus on getting that protein in really does improve one's satiety overall. Good on your new low! 💃💃💃👏👏👏

Nice job with the protein experiment, Deb! Making that lil switch for the BBB&E challenge, my body seemed to want more protein in the first few days. Some days are higher and some days are lower. I've just been listening to my body. 🤷‍♀️ Like we say, the body is very intelligent when we give it what it needs to be optimal. Did you watch the video that Erika posted from dietdoctor.com about protein? The first lady was especially interesting to me. Her take home point was that some people are overweight because their body is really craving protein & they keep feeding it everything but a good protein source, so they keep eating & eating until they get enough protein from whatever they are eating to naturally feel satisfied.

ok, day two of higher protein Zen, today I did 109 grams, I'm so stuffed and my calories are even lower, oye vey! I thought it would bring me up on my calories on my eating days, but it fills me up so full, I can't eat the rest of my veggies! I'm aiming for 2200 cals on my eating days, today I managed a little less than 1800.

Yep, Deb, that's how it works. Is that good or bad?? LOL! Even with eating fatty ribeyes & adding butter, last week's average for me was only 1200 calories. I really probably screwed up tonight eating queso chicharrones like popcorn just now watching News on YouTube. I also had a small salad the weekend. So, I guess I failed the BBB&E challenge this week. 🙃

Well, IDK if it's bad, it's just with my fasting schedule I was aiming at 2200 cal on my eating days to give me a nice 7 day average of about 1200 cals a day. Right now I'm hovering around 950 cals a day over my 7 day average, well, I really have not looked at 7 days, just my entire monthly average is 950 per day

Idk, Deb... Personally, I look at it like this... When we think back to our ancestors they didn't have a calorie counter, they didn't eat every day, and when they had a kill they feasted until full. 🤷‍♀️

...and I don't really have any science study to back this up, but it makes sense to me that keto is probably alot like fasting when it comes to metabolism. The body still has easy access to fat stores, so why would it react like it does in a "normal" calorie deficit??
01 Aug 23 by member: ZenusWarriorPrincess
@Zen you are right, what ever my body needs above and beyond that 950 cal, it has free access to unlimited calories in my current fat stores and it can take what it needs to fill in. Thanks for the reminder, sometimes my focus narrows and zooms in to one thing too much and I lose focus on the BIG picture. My body tells me I am full. I stop eating till hunger awakes again. I do tend to obsess about hitting my goals and the higher protein really fills me up......I'm not gonna worry about it anymore. I want to create habits that I can sustain for a lifetime, one of those is listening to my body, I need to trust it more than I do!!!!

Right, Deb. Once we get our hormones well regulated again with a proper diet, all we have to do is listen to the signals & pay attention to our food/body/mind reactions.
