Day 5 and I'm feeling pretty good. I am neither high nor low this morning. I am alert and in a pleasant mood. My BP is level at 119/71, which is within a point or two of yesterday, resting heart rate is 54, down from 55. When I started back on track on June 8th my BP was around 140/90 even with BP meds daily. It started dropping too low around June 16th and a call to my doc, she told me to take them every other day so that is where I am at now, not much change between medication days and non-medicated days, so that is a good thing! Pain levels in my right hip are down, I think the bike is doing the trick of getting the kinks out of it, but my knee is doing about the same, it did no good for our new 55 lb puppy to crash into it yesterday and kind of made it extend too far backwards.....that made me cuss for a minute! She was headed to her food bowl and I was in her way, head-butt to the knee..LOL so impatient the young are! Potassium chloride and magnesium have some laxative qualities, so I had a surprising BM this morning, my first since day 2 of the fast. I did not know there was still material lurking inside me so that contributed to today's weight drop. No potty breaks during the night last night so I believe the excess fluid is gone. All in all I believe it's been a successful 5 days, only 2 to go! Well 1.5 actually since I will break my fast Sunday morning, about 11 hours short of 168. That was planned on my part. Fast On!

Wow, great drop! Once you've mastered the 72 hour fast, 5 days is manageable.

So true LadyD! I really can't tell much difference between day 3 and day 5, other than a lessening of the euphoric feeling I get on day 3. I'm not as high as I was.

after my morning workout I ran my hands down my sides, I felt smaller so I grabbed my tape an measured my waist, 43 down from 47 so I am guessing that all of that fluid I dropped was in my waist, because it was the area that went up pre-fast from 45 to 47. I'm happy with that! I did not take the rest of the measurement because I'm not exactly dressed in the right undergarments for accurate/consistent measurements. I'll do the whole 9 yards, come Sunday!
