I really don't weigh in much anymore but I thought this might be interesting for some of you. I had 2 very large meals this weekend and the scale went up 5.5 lbs. There fluctuations are mostly due to excessive salt causing water retention and more food in my stomach. Maybe .5 to 1lb of fat gain. If I remember I will weigh in the next few days to show how long its going to take to flush it out. Don't be concerned with big scale swings especially if you are eating appropriately its natural for the scale to bounce around a bit. This fake gain is not concerning to me at all and I thoroughly enjoyed the meals out with the family.

Da_FluffIsThat thanks 😊 both dinners were awesome. I remember when I was weighting daily I had a 6lb swing thw one day and that was with me eating at my set calories for that day. the scale is great to measure progress but I think it really hurts people's motivation at times. what movie did you see? my kids have been bugging me to go to Mario

StormsGirl no problem. I'm guessing it will take me the whole week to even back out again with a big drop tomorrow and the following day. I didn't eat any more arms then normal probably less then normal so this number woudl be even higher if I had mostly carbs. Going to try to remember to weigh in the whole week just for science lol but no promises.

Great post OTB. This is so true! I can gain 3-5# from the weekend but then right back to eating right and following my plan I shed that 3-5#. Now for us post menopause women the key is if it goes up another 3-5# high alert. Then you have 6-10# to lose and that could take weeks! Don't let your age hold you back though from losing it.

RPL you are correct! As a post menopause woman I lost 57 lbs. That didn't involve logging, weighing food or myself obsessively. The bathroom scale did/does bobble once in awhile. But how depressing a life would that be if every day was the same old same old. You would have to eat the same foods, drink the same fluids, burn the same calories. My new slogan is weight loss is science but it's not rocket science!

Redporchlady the scary thing is if your trying to lose weight and not maintain after the loss by being good all week then letting lose every weekend then it becomes a game of losing that same 5 lbs week after week. But we all still need to enjoy life and meals out with family and friends I enjoy my baby carrots and chicken breast but I can't live on them forever 🤣🤣
