Jaxanne777's Journal, 31 January 2023

The past 10 days saw me stuffing my face with so much food and huge amounts of butter. I can see that I've gained some weight, but I didn't weigh myself during this time, and for some reason the scale isn't showing it.

Here is a little review of amounts consumed. These are daily averages for the 10 day period - ~ fat: 310g, ~ carbs: 7g, ~ protein: 178g, ~ calories: 3530

Starting today I'm lowering my protein intake to see how it affects my energy levels
153.2 lb Lost so far: 26.9 lb.    Still to go: 9.9 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Hang in there

Don't worry, you will get back into the swing of things. I am in a similar situation than what you are. Struggling to limit my intake right now too😅. But we will make February our month! Like Nonto says, just hang in there

Thank you nonto & minksmit 🤗🤗 I actually haven't been trying to limit my intake - quite the opposite. I was trying to eat as much as possible. I'm on a type of healing protocol, which involves a lot of feasting before attempting any fasting. I actually expected to see more gain on the scale 😅 But yes, February will be a fantastic month 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 let's go girls (and guys, if any are reading)

Just eat more butter

I just wanted to know, how do you eat butter as I see it with every meal? Normally one would put butter on bread or some kind of starch. So do you like take bites like someone eating chocolate? Also with this carnivore diet, do you need to take any supplements and do you do blood tests to see if your micronutrients are at acceptable levels?

@patchik - Yes, I'll often eat the butter as a snack, just like chocolate 😄 The unsalted one tastes just like thick cream to me. Supplements are not necessary with a Carnivore diet, as meats will provide all the nutrition you need 💯 although a few experts advise taking electrolytes or extra salt in the beginning. Some people like to do some blood work to check their health markers from time to time, and most find that overall health improves more and more over time. Anyone wanting to try this way of eating should look into it very carefully before starting. There are many experts and doctors online who have been following this lifestyle for decades and provide guides for getting started and what to expect. It's not a quick fix, but a long term health diet.
