BShannon2023's Journal, 06 November 2022

Maintenance requires constant effort and monitoring. I'll be the first to admit my efforts over the past two months since my brother's passing have been rocky at best; totally ignored at worst.
I HAVE to get back on track. My doctor's recommended weight was 151. At a minimum, I HAVE to get back to that. Personally, I'd like to be back to 143 or less. Perhaps in time...
I know that I tend to blow it in the afternoon, between 3 & 4 pm. The desire for coffee and a sweet treat hits hard. I need to have a plan to go walking instead, or do something else distracting. If you all have any suggestions, I'm listening.
Hugs to you all. Barb

So sorry about your loss. I know that afternoon drag can be rough to break. I have experimented with eating a bit more at lunch to see if that helps curb the afternoon crash. Sometimes it’s just a lack of energy. A tall glass of water can help.

Thank you Moko. I like your suggestion. I could add one of those sugar-free flavorings to a pint bottle of water, and it would last during that hour.👍

I have been playing a matching game on my phone. Also sucking on sugar free candy helps me.

Thank you CLC and Caroline. Losing one's brother sucks. I've been trying to keep busy through the afternoon. Catching up on emails keeps my fingers away from food!

I am sorry to hear about your brother and I know how the afternoons call to you for a sweet and cup of tea (I experience this as well). I have tried to eat dinner earlier which helps. I just hate deducting that snack from my daily calorie ration. LOL!
