Back to 136! I have to attribute it mostly that I was at work Tues and Wed and I just really don't eat much there. As much as I work out, I keep hearing what you eat gets you 70-80% of your results. The working out is very good and helpful of course, but I think it comes down to eating the right kind of foods and not too many calories for your body to handle.

Julie asked me about if I am now enjoying my running. It started out brutal when I began running. I felt I could barely go and it was hard. I really didn't enjoy it at all. It has remained hard for a long time. Most often now if I get on the treadmill in the gym it still feels hard. It just gradually has seemed easier and more natural esp. when I run outside. The training and increasing distances for the triathlon was very helpful in keeping me focused. I know more of a switch came in thinking a few weeks ago when I set out a course from my neighborhood to another one and back that was 4.6 miles. I didn't worry so much about speed, but just that I wanted to complete the course and I just did a comfortable pace. That point A to B course was very helpful. Once you go out, you have to run it back to get home. I still settled into about a 10-11 min mile for that run. I wasn't pushing myself to go as fast as I could and settling into what was comfortable was helpful in making it enjoyable. I think the scenery you are looking at it also plays a role in the success of the run and how you are feeling. I am very sensory with nature, etc so I love to be around it. I also get inspired when I run past traffic or people b/c I feel strong like, "yeah, I'm a runner." And of course weather plays a factor in the enjoyment of it too. So, keep going and some days you will actually like it. I don't think it will ever be effortless. I am completely covered in sweat after I run which I'm not after any other activity so it definately is a killer workout.

I bought a pair of padded bike shorts last night that I am excited to use. I think a little padding will go a long way on the comfort of the nether regions.

I'm also going to set my goals to getting back to regular floor exercise time- push ups, situps/ crunches, and leg work. It's so helpful for toning and can be done while watching tv. It's going on my calendar today.

Thanks for all you comments on our weekend getaway too! Have a great day!!

Thank you so much for our two cents! I really enjoyed reading it. Yes, padded bike shorts are a God-send! I have to thank the inventor of padded bike shorts! I miss spinning classes! The other nice advantage of padded bike shorts is that you look like J-Lo for a short time...which is great! =)

Thanks for the insights about running. I don't always enjoy my whole run, but there's always something about it I like - even if it's making it to the end! Congrats on getting back to 136!

Congrats on the scale success! I totally agree about running being a great work out (I sweat like crazy, too!) and also that I don't think I will ever find it effortless, either. I do enjoy it now, though, which I didn't for about the first 10 months or so. Great job setting goals for more strength training exercise. That is so important as we get older!
