WOOHOOO! I found another diet secret. I call this technique... "don't eat pizza and your weight will go down". It's super effective.

I've actually stuck to my diet 100% the last few days, which is rare for me. I usually sneak a few not-so-diet things in there because... well I can get away with it as long as my calories don't go too high. It is nice to lose faster when you're doing everything 100% though. Now where's that cookie.

Blarrr. I'm so sore... but not from my normal workouts.

I made the mistake of opening my big mouth yesterday... and it backfired big time. Argh. For those of you that don't know, I recently became a super karate nerd. True story. I'm studying Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu under the All Okinawa Shorin Ryu Kenshin Kan Karate & Kobudo Federation. Say that 3 times fast.

Anyway, my Sensei went a little off script and asked me what I wanted to do instead of just doing what he had planned. I pretty much blanked and had to say something, so I said "kata". F*** me, I won't do that again. I had to do the same 3 kata over and over and over for two hours. Normally class is only an hour and a half, but we went way over this time. I never knew I could be so tired from trying to beat up the air. My feet have started to blister from doing the same movements over and over. I moved around like a 90 year old man this morning. It was definitely a learning experience, in more ways than one.

A kata, in very technical terms, is when you wail your fists in the air fighting an imaginary opponent. Sort of... kind of... not really. It's a sequence of moves put together to help you learn how to kick people in the beanbag. Think tai-chi, but angrier.

The "No-Pizza Diet" sounds promising... Good to hear you're sore from beating up the air. It sounds like IT kicked YOUR butt!

Haha, awesome. I do that all the time. At work. They look at me funny... ;-) I SHOULD follow the no pizza thing.. But um. I just ate 3 slices of veggie pizza. Oops? It was delicious.

Sometimes I wish I were a man. Wait, that came out wrong... But seriously, my hubby can cut out soda and cheese and drop 20 pounds in a month. I haven't had pizza in I don't know how long, and it's not helping me a bit :P. I used to do Tai Chi Chuan (plus some combative style that I never actually knew the name of), and man martial arts kick your ass, even when you're not fighting. Awesome for you!

Martial arts is definitely working me out in ways I never thought of before. I'm so used to working out in a very rigid manner for strength, and that just isn't what martial arts are about. It is really nice to have a workout that isn't boring though.

Oh, and the scale told me I was 190.2 this morning. I ran last night, so slight dehydration kind of factors in, but I'm hoping I can keep this quick loss trend going.
