So, I bounced back completely from the 10 lbs I lost during my 7 day fast two weeks ago. But it does seem to have broken the plateau where I was stuck prior to the fast. I wasn't surprised to add back what I dropped during the fast, and it does make sense that now I'm now unstuck. During the fast I lost all the weight of GI tract contents, plus all the water weight stored in muscles as glucagon, then regained all of that. Now that I'm off carbs again, I'm dropping that water weight, and slowly re-entering ketosis. I think it's good for weight loss to change things up - a fast, a carb week, and now back to ketogenic eating. We'll see how it goes. Experimentation!
223.0 lb Lost so far: 57.0 lb.    Still to go: 23.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Keep seeking! We are all an "N of 1" I'm curious to try a multi-day fast. Have not worked up the gumption to do it yet. Thanks for posting your experience.

Curious: after the fast, what eating pattern did you return to? (16:8 protocol, 20:4, OMAD etc)

Some days a week I skip breakfast. This works better if I drink an Apple Cider Vinegar drink with glucomanon (conjack powder) in the morning to keep me from getting hungry. That gets me to an 18:6 pattern, but not everyday. Some days I feel like eating, but I delay it with a cup of coffee early, followed by a late breakfast. I lose weight better if I can get by with two meals instead of three, and stop eating well before bedtime.

Sounds a lot like me. I can vary from 14-24 hours fasting with my sweet spot being 18 or 19. The 24 hours usually happen by accident when I’m traveling or busy or nothing is “window worthy.” And I too have recently discovered Apple Cider vinegar. I’ve read that it acts in the same metabolic way as the insulin control drug metformin Keep posting! I’m fascinated with this lifestyle and it’s many iterations.

Wow, 7 days! Awesome! I am wanting to build up to 7 days. I have done many 3 and 4 day fasts. I am in a 3 day fast now. I haven't made it to 5 days yet because of scheduling.

It just sort of worked out and I kept it going., Paynena. Then the vacation was kind of the opposite of fasting, so now I'm back to my more normal WOE - low carb with some intermittent fasting.
