My ice cream sammich diet is working wonders. Down another pound!

Okay, so maybe it's the total calories and workouts that helped me lose weight. And speaking of workouts... I RAN!

Yeah, yeah. I know. I wasn't supposed to, but I felt great and took it easy. I walked for a mile before I started running to make sure I was warmed up, and then I only ran a mile and a half. It didn't hurt, and I didn't get hurt, so that's good. What's not so good, is I've lost some of my running fitness. That mile and a half might as well have been five. It was like someone stole all the good air from the park and I was just left to pant like a dog.

Now... something VERY interesting. (dun dun dun!)

My house is haunted.

For reals.

No really. FOR REALZ!!!!!!!!

I'm actually renting a house from my step-dad that we used to live in when I was in high school and college. Next door, is the house I grew up in from about 5 years old to high school. In both houses... GOATS! I mean... ghosts. Maybe. There have been a lot of unexplained and downright creepy things that have happened in the two houses, and something happened again yesterday.

I got home around 6pm, and one of my roommates (that is home most of the time) immediately started telling me about what had happened. She was in the living room when she heard someone crying, and the dogs started barking at it, so they heard it too. She thought it was my other roommate (my amigo/her boyfriend) messing with her since he had said he might take off early that day, so she went outside... but his car wasn't there. Then she went all the way around the house and checked all the rooms to make sure no one was messing with her. No one else was there, so she went back to the living room... and heard it again. She didn't want to just go straight to the noise (understandable), but her guess is that the sound was coming from either their bedroom or mine.

I have to get to work... more for realz goats stories later... maybe.

Okay... more for realz stories... starting with the house I grew up in, and is now currently next door. 1) My cousins used to come over all the time to spend the night, but they would sleep on my bedroom floor instead of on the living room couches because they could hear people talking. 2) My mom was babysitting her friend's kid one night and he was sleeping in the living room. He got up in the middle of the night and went to my parents' room (they kept the door open at night). He got to the door and just stood there. It woke my mom up and she saw him standing there, and then he walked away. The next morning she asked him why he was at the door and he said he didn't come in because there was a dark man at the bed. She assumed he meant my step-dad, but he said, "No, it wasn't Cecil. Cecil was asleep. The dark man was at the end of the bed looking at you." 3) Before the age of every-kid-has-a-cell-phone, I got stuck on waterboy duty for two back-to-back football games since my team was understaffed (I had a broken collarbone and couldn't play). I didn't have a way to call my mom and she was expecting me home about 8 (after the first game ended). When I didn't show up she started worrying and was in the living room looking out the window waiting for me. She saw two balls of light appear in the living room, move around erratically, and then disappear. She didn't know what it was, or what it meant, and started freaking out because she thought something had happened to me. 4) This one is funny (to me anyway), but after we moved next door (the house I'm currently in) my aunt and cousin rented the house I grew up in. My cousin swears she was leaving her room and saw a little green leprechaun looking thing run at her in the hallway. I thought that was kind of hilarious, but when my mom heard it she had an "OMG" moment because she had seen something similar. She was on the back patio of our house and you can see the garage next door where my cousin was since it's a chain link fence. Well, while my mom was on the patio she saw a little green leprechaun looking thing peek out from the garage and look at her. She never mention it before because she thought it was too crazy (the two events happened within a few weeks of each other).

Moving on to the house I'm in now... 1) When my parents bought the house next door (the one I'm currently in), my mom took me on a tour one night after fooseball (football) practice to show me the place. We only had a key to the back door at the time, and as we were leaving and locking up I heard someone loudly whisper "Get out". I looked at my mom and asked, "Did you hear that?" She said she didn't hear anything so we locked the door and went next door to our house. Once we were inside she told me that she did hear it, but she didn't want to go back in and check it out so she just told me she didn't hear it. 2) This is the only one that scared the holy crap out of me. In the house I'm in now, and actually in the same bedroom I'm in now, I woke up in the middle of the night and felt that someone had their hand on my calf (I was sleeping on my stomach). I panicked, but I was paralyzed. I could open my eyes, but I couldn't move. I started freaking out and I felt the hand move up to the back of my thigh. I finally was able to moved and flipped over as quick as I could and saw the black silhouette of a person at the end of my bed. I lunged at it thinking someone had got into the house and went right through it... landing on the floor. I started screaming to wake up my parents and started going through the house. The doors and windows were still locked and no one was there. Other than that there's the crying from yesterday. I told my roommate about all the stuff that had happened in the houses and she was not amused. LOL The only other thing that has happened to me is I stayed over at a friends house and his mom kept telling me they had a friendly ghost that would move things. I thought she was just messing with me, but when we went to sleep I was in the floor of my friends room and saw a radio controlled car start moving around the floor. I though my friend was messing with me, so I sat up expecting him to have the controller and laughing. he was asleep, so I looked around the room and found the controller to the car... which was off at the time. I quickly threw the covers over my head and tried to go to sleep. LOL

Omg, that is so creepy! Ghosts and hauntings and stuff seriously freak me out. They are more realistic than unstoppable slasher serial killers. Lol. Ever seen Amityville Horror? We watched it the other night and guess what time I woke up in the middle of the night. Yep. 3:15AM. I freaked. Lol.

What is it about 3AM? Wasn't that the time the girl kept waking up in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". That's also about the time I woke up paralyzed. Also... I had to go work out right after I got home, so after my roommate told me about the crying I told her about all the other stories... and then left to run. LOL I bet she was super paranoid in the house by herself at that point.

3am is supposedly the time of day when Christ died on the cross. they call it the bewitching hour.i found that out by watching the special features after "the exorcism of emily rose". spooky, huh? goats freak me out,too

3pm is when Christ died on the cross. So 3 am is the 'opposite'.

i don't know if you believe it all or not! i am sure its all true though, they def exist, unfortunately in YOUR homes! my mom says 'you should be more affraid of the living than of the dead!' sylvia brown says you should ask them to leave, they don't belong here... have you ever tried to get rid of them!?

Eeep. After I read about the crying I could only skim the rest. Too scary. I like to think of myself as a rational person who sees things from a scientific perspective, but whenever I hear or read something about ghosts my eyes tear up. I would not be able to sleep in your place after all these goings on. Once, a guy took me to a haunted inn in Jefferson, TX, near the LA border. Lots of hanging moss and creepy stories. He thought it would be romantic. Ha! I was so freaking scared I ate all of my anti-anxiety meds and I still couldn't sleep

wow, what a story!!! I don't know how i would react if I ever SAW a ghost, but I really like reading and hearing about people's experiences. I admire you for being so calm!! you never think about moving out?

Cindy, I haven't tried to get rid of them because I don't know if I would want to. I know that sounds weird, but it's interesting to me, not scary. Alright, it's scary... but after I've had time to calm down it's interesting. No one's ever been hurt in either of the houses, and it can be years between incidents, so I don't worry about it too much.

I got that attitude from my mom. She used to be like a real life version of "The Sixth Sense" (now that she has a new home in the boonies there aren't any goats to bug her... lol). My brother and I are both interested in paranormal stuff because our mom had a lot of different experiences and because of the little stuff that happened when we were growing up.

Beets, I think I know the place you're talking about! I actually think my parents vacationed there once. I remember looking at the pictures and thinking, "Wow this place looks creepy!" LOL

15 May 09 by member: cindyshine
Passenger. Lol. And some other famous psychic-type chick... she was younger... I can't remember her name. But I actually swam in the same pool with her. Lol.
