livelifefully's Journal, 26 March 2009

No loss to report again this week. I have exercised 7 out of the last 9 days in a row. So, I am happy with that and feel I have been working pretty hard. 138 is my "barrier weight" on the scale. I have to workout often and work hard to try to stay under this weight. I would really like to see some progress made this next week to lose again. It is frustrating to wonder if I will have to keep up this level of activity and trying forever to maintain this weight? I guess probably so to a degree. It just doesn't come off the same as when we were younger.

The upcoming 5K race is a week and a half. My husband decided to run it with me. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in a journal before, but he is a natural runner, which I am not. He ran the Chicago Marathon 5 years ago and finished in the top 25% (when he had a desk job.) Since going back to physical work, he had not run since. He is getting back into it the last month again and enjoying it. He can outrun me now just getting back this month. Oh well, we all have our talents, right?! I am talented at a lot of things, and running really isn't one of them! But as I often say, it is good to stretch yourself and challenge yourself in other areas too!

I plan to run this afternoon again. I did swim this week and have had some great workouts over the last 9 days. I will probably hit the 5K race trail on Sat and give that a whirl to see how I do.

Hope you all have a happy, healthy day.

I totally believe in the "barrier weight" theory. Our bodies just hold on to certain weights, for some reason. Perhaps if you can break past this point and get to your goal or a little lower even, your body will stop resisting and settle into its new, lower weight. Good luck with the race and your training. Great job keeping up the workouts, too!

That's great that your husband is running with you! I hope your race goes well. Our pool is still too cold to swim, but it should be warm enough pretty soon.

Good luck in the upcoming 5K race. You will do great! I know you will. I can tell you are very healthy and an energetic individual. Also - thank you - thank you - for the understanding words on my journal today. I was pretty forward in my confessions - both about NEEDING Fat Secret feedback the way I do - and about my weird relationship with my mom. Your journals really LIFT ME UP. Thanks a million!
