Hey Rob, I was just wondering why you stopped on July 2012 - July 2013 and if it is a personal thing then please just tell me that it was personal! I don't want you to answer anything that might cause a bad memory! Since then though you have done terrific!!! I just noticed weight going down on each entry until July 2012 and you seemed to had stopped logging in your wonderful success! Do you have a very labor intense job that eats up a lot of calories? You just seem to do so great on what you are eating, I could not get by on just 1000 calories a day, WOW! I am disabled so I can't work out like a normal person does, but I just made sure I started drinking water and staying under my RDI which said was 3500 calories a day for 420 lbs. man, but I thought that was a bit high soiI lowered it down to 2900 calories daily and I just make it on that. It is hard enough for me to just stay under 2900 calories, but I do! You have been at this like 4 years, so I know you know your stuff. You are doing very, very good! Can't wait to be like you one day when someone ask me how I did it! Sincerely, Adam Bostick

Hey, Adam. That first paragraph in my journal entry kind of explains that: "The biggest thing that got in the way in my past attempts at weight loss was when I would try to ignore my natural impulses, and be *rock-solid* in my approach, whatever it was at the time. Inevitably, what with being human and all that, I would have a bad day or two, and beat myself up about it. That, of course, led to a certain depression, which in turn led to a growing certainty in my own failure. A severe fatalism would kick-in, knowing the whole thing was pointless. And that was the end of that. No more control. No more weight loss." That period was one of those times. I've actually been dieting in spurts since I was 13. At 13, I weight in at almost 200 lbs. Anyway, that's all water under the bridge. Back in 2012, part of my issue was that at that time, I was not really journaling or communicating with folks on here. That has made a huge difference for me since I began doing that last July. It's funny how we become accountable to people that are in essence strangers... yet we get to know them all so well. Also, as I mentioned in that journal entry, I began to build in *release* plans for how I would handle it if I **NEEDED** something that wasn't part of my normal diet. The easiest way to handle this is to budget yourself. "Save" a few calories from some days a week, like putting it in the bank. At the end of the week, if that number adds up to 500, have 500 extra calories on Saturday. Strategies like this can be a life-saver... and they really work in the long run. You may gain a little on Sunday... but, you'll notice that over time, the stuff all averages out, as long as you stick to your daily average.
