It’s been a while since posting, We are now potentially going into a second lockdown, London is truly terrifying, I have not been out since February. Currently coping with skin allergies, Taking antihisthamines for my rashes that i have had since May, Urticaria Hives/prickly heat rashes, That 2 week 40C heatwave was horrible, The pollen count has been very high this year, Hope it clears up by October as I really want to go back on track again with my fitness, it’s making me stress eat, Because of the rashes I can’t exercise as the heat triggers the itching, I have stopped wearing cotton. The side effects of antihistamines are making me feel sleepy all the time. Completed the 1 week Hydrocortisone course it helps and Calamine Lotion is really soothing 💗
On bright side, we have now upgraded to the Sky Q cable box with broadband and Netflix bundle so i don’t have to pay for the internet anymore lol woo! My family got a great deal so I’m gonna save almost £500 🎉
235.9 lb Lost so far: 26.5 lb.    Still to go: 103.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.2 lb a week

Flower 🤗 it’s great to see you post! Sorry you’ve been having problems with allergies, do you know all of the causes? Take good care of your immune system 💪 💪

Hi Flower - so sorry to hear you have been suffering so much. My hayfever was bad this year, but not so much that I couldn't cope. I remember how I suffered when taking exams at school - back in the 70's the teachers didn't care my eyes swelled and I had a nose which ran like a tap, just told me to grow up! People who don't suffer with allergies don't appreciate how debilitating it can be. I do hope you manage to find something to help soon. Stay safe and stay as well as you can. C xx

Yh Nutricali, it’s the pollen in the air that triggers it, Nettle pollen urticar weed and birch pollen, plants basically, They said it could be the 4th symptom of Coronavirus but I’ve had rashes for 5 months now so I’m sure it’s just allergies 👍🏻 Hope you’re doing well 😊💕

Thanks Chris I’ve been taking Loratadine Antihistamines and using Hydrocortisone cream and Calamine lotion with showers before applying them on the skin 😊 I get really itchy all over especially in my palms/hand and feet. It’s the first time I’ve got rashes, hope your allergies get better too xx Waiting for the pollen to clear up next month 👍🏻

I agree pollen count has been insane this year. I dont suffer with hay fever but i have certainly had a prickly nose this year. hopwfully with the weather cooling and autumn on its way you'll be feeling better soon x

I’m glad it’s not Covid 🤭 Hope things get better next month 🤞 I didn’t find my allergies were too bad this year but the only thing I’d really changed was to take vitamins and drink probiotics. It might be worth a try to see if it helps

Hello - thanks for your posts, I'm writing as I too have been having unexplained rashes since August. Mine seem to be triggered by pressure. Curious if you have a history or yours have appeared after nowhere like mine did. I suspect I may have had covid after I suffered an upset stomach and severe body aches in August, a week after which the rashes started. I had shrugged if off, but reading your post makes me wonder....

Hi arsyvarsy, it’s the first time I’ve ever had rashes, I didn’t get an upset stomach or aches with mine though, I’ve had it since May, literally when summer started, the heatwave made it even worse, my mum, niece, sister-in-law and her friend have it too, my mum had a blood test they said it’s just allergies, I am sensitive to certain type of plants yh, I’m thinking about buying an air purifier but I’m really waiting for the pollen to clear up. Another reason for rashes could be is washing your hands too much when this pandemic began as soap is an irritant so stripping away the good stuff from your hands. Hope you get well soon xx

Hello FlowerB - well I always take Loratadine now and this year I had to buy a larger supply because the 'season' went on much longer than usual for me. When I was 'a wee lad' someone suggested a spoonful of honey every morning. I have tried it but never kept it up 'religiously' so I cant actually say if it helped. I dont know if that was an old wives tale or if the lady meant Manuka Honey (before it came into vogue. I ought to try it again I suppose. Hayfever is an inconvenience as I have suffered it so many years. As a child I was taking Piriton which always has the effect of putting me to sleep - not good when I was taking it in the morning before school! Now there are a wider variety of things and mostly non-drowsy. A far wose allergy for me is shellfish. Hubby will confirm I HAVE to steer clear as we went out for a Chinese meal on my birthdya not long after we got together. The crispy king prawns looked lovely and I thought 'one wont hurt'. How wrong i was - nearly had to call an ambulance! Oops! Not making that mistake again - but it happened accidently years later at an official function when there was no warning about prawns in Chinese Money Bags on a buffet. I was found in a corner with a jug of iced water gasping for air begging people not to let the Big Boss know or he would hit the roof and call ambulance! See I am not a Drama Queen! This year I managed to get a bad rash on one hand but that, I think, was where I brushed against a huge weed in a field and found out later it is poisonous. Live and learn. Hope you start feeling better very soon. Nothing worse than feeling 'rubbish' (polite version) as people often cant understand why you feel so rough. xx

Thanks Chris, I’m sorry to hear about your experience, must have been awful, Urticar weed plant nettle pollen is my arch enemy lol besides the bloody birch pollen everywhere from trees! I wore a tracksuit jacket for the first time in 5 months, it also stopped me from scratching myself in this cold weather, sometimes it just itches in the most random areas! I’ve seen anti allergy clothing online but I hope it’s not a scam lol expensive too

Chris, I have heard that you should have local honey. I have no clue if it really works.

Thanks Beli - I must try that then. A neighbour has several hives and sells the honey in the village shop, which e owns. Apparently he had a bumper year this year but I missed out as every time I went to get some they had sold out and now I know he has none left. You'd think he would save a jar for a neighbour - lol. Other places locally do sell it as there are an amazing lot of hives dotted around which I find when on dog walks - just tucked in little bits of woodland at the sides of fields and places like that. Apparently this year the Rape was amazing (didnt my nose and throat tell me!) and the honey has been tasting amazingly floral from it.....

Flower that was kind of you. Yes a horrible experience as I felt my throat close up and apparently I turned beetroot red. Had a huge jug of iced water which helped. Some years ago I was driving across Salisbury Plain in Summer and I had a similar experience because all I could see for miles in all directions was Oil Seed Rape - lovely golden yellow flowers but for me..... I felt my thorat going and raced into a village, screeched to a halt and ran into a little shop - threw a five pound note on the counter and grabbed chilled bottles of drinks. After 2 I would breath again and turned to find two old ladies staring at me terrified looks on their faces. A madman had run into the shop and thrown money at them as he grabbed drinks..... I eventually managed to explain and apologise but didnt dare go into the shop again. After that when I went that way I carried bottles of chilled water!
