Getting outdoors is great, plus you are spending time with your daughter too. Lift her up a few times, that does count as exercise! :)

After so many years of back injuries, and now diabetes, I'm once again trying to exercise. Fragile back is worrisome but I want so much to do it. I get strength from reading everything on this site. I managed a whopping 3 min 2 times the other day, and today so far I've done a straight 7 minutes on the stepper. Want to slowly build to 15 min 4 times/day. I can't seem to make an exercise entry or I don't know how to do it. Seems to just start an "1 hour" and I'm only at "7 min"!!! Is that your beautiful tuxedo cat?? Kat

Hi Kats and Sararay.......I also have a back injury seems to be doing well for now sometimes it lays me out flat/ nerve damage can be torture ..I also hyper-extended my knee a few years ago and need knee replacement surgery but am scared to death of doing it. I am exercising carefully but also like I dont have injuries and so far so good. And yes that is my Tuxedo Cat...his name is Spade and he is a sweetheart.Since my husband is working night shift now Spade keeps me company..its hard to adjust to the change in schedule (more so for my husb i guess haha) You are doing great on your exercise...starting slowly is great and Im sure it makes oyu feel good that you have started..I walked almost 10 minutes on the treadmill years ago before I lost weight the first time (I was only 33) and I was pooled in sweat and heaving and burning...it really does get easier. Keep it up :) Sararay.....getting outdoors feels great! Even in the cold. I forgot how much I loved it. And the other day I did exactly what you mentioned I carried my daughter piggy back up a nice steep hill...my knee wasnt happy about it but I did it without passing out from lack of oxygen (I say that because I tried that hill without my daughters extra weight not long ago and I was panting and had to stop) Those accomplishments sure are great motivation to keep going.
