Shannon_21's Journal, 06 October 2010

Well, I have cheated in my weight loss efforts by taking a weight loss drug. It curbs my appetite to the point of losing 11 pounds in 27 days (and my waist is down 2 inches.) I am not necessarily proud of this, because I put in zero effort, but I am 124 pounds and still on the drug. I will stop at the end of the pack, because the drug can be addicting, and Im technically not a candidate for this particular drug. My side effects are almost nonexistant except for severe constipation and acne. I will not purchase this drug again, because next time I may not be so lucky. I am stupid for taking it (no, I wouldnt get sent to jail for taking it..) because it isnt regulated by the FDA..so who knows if another purchase would have the same dose/pill. So yes, there are drugs out there that are "magic pills," however, sometimes at the expense of the liver, heart, and kidneys. I will post again in a month or two (I plan to stop taking them in about a week) with a follow up to share if I have maintained the weight or rebounded.

I would like to add that my weight distribution this time around is different (I now have 3 kids ages 5-1)..and seems to get worse with each pregnancy. I have more fat than I did 10 years ago. I hope the tiny ripples around my belly button do go away. I dont recall having them with baby 1 or 2. So it has taken a bit longer to fit in the clothes I could have easilly fit into at a higher weight 10 years ago. My size 6s probably could use a belt. I had to hold them up when I was jumproping with the kids, and today my other pants were drooping below my crotch.
124.0 lb Lost so far: 4.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
losing 0.5 lb a week

What are you taking? I just need a boost. If I could lose a few pounds quick then I would feel good and it would give me the motivation to continue. How have you been doing since you posted this last? Tina

Be very very careful. While you may lose the weight, it's better to do a flush. Not to be graphic, but your colon retains a lot of weight. What you are probably losing is water weight, which you will gain back pretty quickly. If you do a colon cleanse, it's gentler and safer than those "miracle drugs". GNC and Vitamin World have some good ones, and Wal Mart have a few too. Get off those pills and try something more natural. Using the pills without changing your habits will just cause you to spin your wheels. You'll get nowhere fast. Be careful. You can do this...without the drugs. I'm pulling for you!

Thanks! I have stopped taking the drugs, because I started after trying to figure out what all the cysts were on my face that werent healing, the constant need to pick at my face, the refusal to eat veges, and eating junk food..when I did eat.. well, it seems like the drugs had some meth in them...and not the other type of undeclared drug the FDA said was in them. So, I stopped a few weeks ago at 122 pounds. I gained back 3 pounds, and I have to be careful to not overeat. My skin is looking MUCH better, and Im not OCD'ing in front of the mirror anymore trying to pick at my face! That was weird! Im eating real salads again :) Im sure my body is thankful! Im still glad I took them as Im at a very good weight. Tina, if there was methamphetamines in these(which I swear I had most of the symptoms), I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
