Good morning to our FatSecret diet clan. I ate about half of my Pork Shank at “Enrique’s” of Long Beach. It was a long night of drinking, and festivities. I was actually, a good boy, and got in before midnight. Happy 😊 about my scale weigh in, but it’s imperative I lose weight to get off the cholesterol medicine. I don’t like taking it, at all. It’s the only medicine, that I take. You ALL have a great 👍 day, and Valentines Day, tomorrow. I hope we ALL can feel fulfilled in our diet regimen.

Good job Warren. Don't want to be a downer, so hopefully diet and exercise will do the trick. Unfortunately, many people on cholesterol meds are well within their weight range and are extremely active. My husband has been on cholesterol meds since his 30s. He's never been heavy, rides a road bike, lifts, and plays competitive senior softball. So, keep up the good work. Perhaps you will be one of the lucky! 🤞

Erquiaga, I just started the cholesterol meds, and I just would like to get to 265, and try to stay around that weight. I hope I can get off the meds. Thank you!

Warren, you're back! If you're taking a statin, be sure to supplement with Co-Q10. Costco often runs specials on the liquid variety, and there's something about that particular formulation that's supposed to make it more useful to/absorbed by your body.

Hi sweetheart! So wonderful to meet up here again. You still in NY? A lot has happened since we last chatted. Prostate cancer and removal. I seem to be in excellent health, except I’m back because of high cholesterol. I hope hope ALL is well with you dear. About my 6th year in retirement, I believe. You should Messenger me, dear.

So why the Co Q-10?

I remember the cancer and treatment. Glad to hear you're still doing well. CoQ10 is very important to the body for numerous reasons, but I believe the big concern is cardiac. I don't remember the precise details, but statins deplete CoQ10 to a concerning degree--so much so that I believe European doctors routinely instruct their patients to take CoQ10 whenever they prescribe statins.

I will go get that. Not really liking the effects of the Lipitor like statin, so I need to get my bad cholesterol down. I take a vitamin for seniors and vitamin E. I just turned 69, but I can’t complain too much.
