I am back into the 140's. I am happy about this! I have been following the steps Paul McKenna taught from "I Can Make You Thin" this week and I really am eating much less.

The golden rules are:
1. Eat when you're hungry
2. Eat what you want, not what you think you should eat.
3. Eat conciously. No distractions of tv, reading etc. **Put the fork down b/w every bite** chewing your food slowly and enjoying it.
4. Stop when you are full or think you are full. (You can always go back to rule #1 if you are hungry again.)Close your eyes if you need to to better gauge your fullness.

So, this week I have eaten the foods I enjoy, but it is much less than I would normally eat. And I am enjoying it more b/c I am taking the time to pay attention to it and enjoy it.

The one comment that really stuck out for us was he said overweight people think about food all the time, except when they are eating it. Then they are just shoveling it in or not paying attention to it. That is so true! We are all used to taking in so much more than we need overall I think.

It has been really nice to just eat what I want, not that is it all junk- I want healthy food too, but not stressing about having a helping of a casserole or mashed potatoes if that is what looks really good. I really hope this works and gives me progress! It is really training us to eat a great way for life without having special foods, so it should always work b/c you don't go off the special foods and then gain weight.

I would often have trouble stopping when I was full b/c it tastes so good, but b/c I have been paying attention to the food I was eating and enjoying it more, it has been much easier to stop now.

I'll have to watch that show. It sounds like it's working quite well for you! That's one thing I hate about "dieting" I seem to think about food all the time now!
