DRosvall's Journal, 07 January 2008

Okay, I've been on South Beach for a year now. I started at 193 last January. At my best I made it to 180. My goal is 165. Over the holiday I put on 6 and am back up to 186. Beginning today I'm going back on Phase 1 which is where I have my best success. I tend to lose 10 lbs. in 2 weeks each time I go on Phase 1. I hold steady on Phase 2, then gain when I start to slip back into old habits. I didn't exercise enough in '07, so part of my goal will be to exercise more. I'm starting with pilates to strengthen my core muscles. Good-luck to all of you who are getting back to it...!
186.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 21.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

It's fine to go back to phase 1 when you're having a problem and have "sliped back into old habits". Remember that moving to phase 2 is also important. When you get to phase 2 remember to introduce the new foods slowly each week... add one and wait to see how your body reacts to it and whether or not it causes cravings or binge eating. If you're like my hubby, he also needs lot of good healthy snacks and desserts. Sugar free jello, nuts, pumpkin seeds, he also loves the pumpkin custard (recipe is called crustless pumpkin pie on this sites kitchen), mozzarella cheese sticks. Am I right? Men need their treats and snacks. Luckily on South Beach that is a good thing!
