Egull1's Journal, 14 July 2017

So, up 4.6 lbs and weighed in at even 192.0 this a.m., post fatter-day of course. It was definitely a binger, though not a binger and a bender, further intensified by the fact that we waited so long before heading out to our restaurant of choice that by the time we did get there, I was famished, drunk, and ready to eat every thing on my plate.

I don't do over 3000 calorie cheat days often, maybe once a month. I honestly don't know if or how much I gain in actual weight when they happen. I always suspect about a quarter of a pound, but it's hard to tell because inevitably I pee out all the H20 and inevitably get another stated low. Do I think my fatter-days slow down my weight loss progress? Oh, yes indeed. I hope they do!! This is not my first rodeo losing big folks. It took me five whole years to gain what I lost back from the weight I dropped in my 30's and it took me about 3 years to lose it all back then.

I have a genuine respect for those that want to lose their weight fast, especially if they are type II diabetics and lessoning the weight can literally improved their health in a matter of months, minus a few less expensive medications.

But, that's not my journey...

Slow and steady wins the race with this girl. And slow and steady creates the likelihood of keeping it off for good, especially since this journey really is incorporating weight loss with maintenance in mind.

Needless to say, I told mom we need to make sure we leave our favorite bar early enough so I'm not so famished by the time we eat at our chosen restaurant. Next week will be a little less challenging. We're not going out, so I can keep my cheat meal relegated to lunch, which is always less caloric then a cheat meal dinner. To that end, I did do my workout today and incorporated all my increases. I'm actually up to 145 crunches and 60 old school sit ups. I did make it to 18 pushup, but confess that last one was a doozy.

The muscle spasticity/tightness/banding is very challenging because it limits the mobility in my legs and I can feel how sore my toes, the tops of my feet, ankles, calves, and quads are the next morning because they've remained in tightness for too long.

The MS clinic called today to confirm my appointment for next Thursday, and though I'm not jumping for joy at the thought of this appointment, even the potential of getting a medication that will help lesson the muscle banding is something to look forward too. In the meantime, I've been doing everything from massaging the legs, rubbing in CBD lotion, heating pad, lorazepam, Motrin, and my favorite "go to", a glass of wine, and meditation.

It may not be much, but ya work with whatcha got!

I confess, I feel tired, a bit overwhelmed and kinda sad right now. I guess feeling a little caught between the things I want to do, and trying to readjust to what I can realistically do.

Mama did surprise me with some goodies to "pimp" up my walker yesterday. And, I confess it does make using it very fun. I love the basket and the little bell, though I can't think I'll use the bell to often. It makes me feel a bit confident about next Monday, as I will be attempting to take the bus to work again.

Anyhow, have a wonderful Friday, everyone and sweet dreams...
