Roxanne Fitzpatrick refuses to believe she is undeserving of a loving relationship with the guy of her dreams just because she’s the “fat” girl; but after her long time crush, Shane, publically breaks her heart, Roxanne fears she’ll never have the chance to love again. Rumor has it, Shane wants a second chance. Determined to show him she’s no body’s “side dish” Roxanne sets out to find the perfect boyfriend. Unexpectedly, her perfect guy finds her when Steven, a hopelessly romantic college student who plays acoustic guitar and writes his own songs, asks Roxanne to be his girlfriend. Once nicknamed “Fatty Fitz©” (by none other than Shane’s obnoxious best friend), Roxanne is suddenly put on a pedestal as the only girl who’s too mature to date high school guys. Life seems absolutely perfect as her and Steven fall in love, until a chance meeting with Shane threatens to expose the secret to Roxanne’s relationship success. With the help of a complete stranger, Roxanne creates another twist in the story of her life, but meeting Luke throws in a surprising ending that even Roxanne couldn’t predict.
This is the synopsis of my manuscript. It will probably be the same pitch that I will send to agents.
