Holiday weekend report: Saturday we had a Passover Seder. This is supposed to involve 4 glasses of (sacred mind you) wine, matzo ball soup, macaroons and chocolate covered almonds for desert. Well, I did OK . I subbed in four glasses of seltzer with a splash of wine, soup without the matzo balls and a few dark chocolate covered almonds. I was over on my carbs, but not disastrously and I felt a part of the festivities. The seder was great: a celebration of liberation triumphing over oppression. Yay! So worth a little chocolate and wine.

Today we had a breakfast feast with our overnight guests on the deck = cottage cheese pancakes with berries and bacon. I made mine keto friendly. So that was all good. My downfall was getting into the leftover chocolate covered almonds after the crowd had left. Oh well, they're all gone now. Back to the discipline tomorrow. It was a lovely weekend. A warm breeze from the south making us all feel a little wild and free! White caps on the river and the wind chime making music. All the windows open and the wind slamming doors. Dogs swimming in the ice cold river. So welcome after a long winter!

I served seared duck breast, asparagus and a beautiful salad for the main course, too. Yum!
