Discovered a FS gem. Draglist follows a diet called MIT Carson Chow. If you google it you can read a NY Times article about Carson Chow, a mathematician who was hired by the National Institute of Health to study Obesity. He developed a calculator that allows you to find your ideal RDI (recommended daily intake). It's similar to, but more advanced than the FS calculator. If anyone is wondering about the perfect RDI to set for yourself, you will enjoy tinkering with this calculator. I'm resetting my RDI today, the 1st of the month, to better reflect my new weight and goals. I thought some others here might make good use of this tool. Thanks to Draglist for bringing it to FS!

Cool! I checked it out, and it seems like a reasonable calculation.

It came out just about at the RDI I set for myself, even though I don't always reach it. It says I'll reach my goal by December, 2017. I know I need patience, it's just not always my best trait.

Good loss by the way, and I just noticed you're in the green! That's a great job!

Thanks Sue. It may take time to reach your goals, but you know what you get if you don't work on them!

Yes, I do. One of the best things is that I know I have support from my buddies and some others here. I didn't have that before and it's already helped.

Sue - yes it does really help. 52C- Glad you found it interesting too. Confirms what we've learned by trial and error.

I checked it. The numbers feel right. Nothing crazy, thanks Sue

I agree - the numbers do look reasonable. I put in a year for a goal date to see how it looked and the calories per day is what I am doing now. Now I have a goal date 👍
