72 hours so far.....this is a new one on me, today I have done nothing but pee.....every 15 to 20 minutes the urge to go is so intense I almost don't make it to the bathroom. Between the watermelon, the alcohol, the sunburn, the 4 hour pedaling marathon, the highly refined carbs I indulged in over the weekend I must have really been retaining water, the last time I had issues with my bladder not being able to handle the traffic like this was the day before I went into labor with my daughter. This must be a whoosh, I have just never had one happen while I was conscious. I hope it abates before bedtime as I really hate missing my sleep to trot to the bathroom every few minutes!

Should help the next weigh in!

You would think right? I'm wondering if I am dehydrating though, the backs of my hands look aged and my veins are standing out, I'm drinking plenty of water, I'm almost to a gallon for the day. I was really tanking up over the weekend too, after the tequila shots Saturday night I felt dry, so I really hit the water, then Monday on the lake with all of the pedaling and sun, I wonder if most of my increase was water weight?

Actually, I was in the hospital once with fluid on my lungs and they gave me I.V.Lasix and I had to pee like this....urgent and frequent!

Wondering about your electrolytes?

Yikes.....sounds so uncomfortable!

I feel good Erkia, no dizziness or confusion, no cramps, I think my hands just look funny because all of the fluid that I have been retaining since my TOM is finally going completely away along with all of what I collected in my all you can eat weekend. I think if my electrolytes were out of balance I would be feeling ill and even my slight sinus congestion is now gone. Hopefully I will see a NICE drop on my next weigh-in. Funny thing, I just checked my months daily average....I have not eaten in three days and I am still at 108% of my RDI! Damn, when I go overboard, I really go overboard!

Maybe the break is just the thing you needed. :) Of all the things you ate, what did you enjoy the most?

Black beans and rice seasoned to perfection! :)

Ohhh that sounds so good. I could go for a big bowl of Ham and beans.

Seems like the ham and beans would be perfectly acceptable for your single meal of the day Knuckles, only problem we have with them here is the only way I can make them is in mass quantity and when you have a crockpot full, you tend to go back for seconds. We also like to have sweet cornbread with them, I have the same issue with big pots of collard greens...must have cornbread. We really do have self sabotaging habits don't we.

Collard greens! I made them once and they were tough and bitter. When I eat out, thay are yummy.

I sure have eat a lot of wonderful flavored collards with out a crumb of cornbread.... it can be done.... one has to wrap there head around the fact that... starches are killin' us

Did you cook them with vinegar Lady? They need a little dose of that to tenderize and a long simmering time. Nana, I agree and I am slowly bringing back some of our favorite meals minus the starches. Liver and onions smothered in gravy was one of them and I discovered that bare sauteed liver and onions are just as tasty with no breading and no gravy and no mashed taters!

You said liver😮 I'm taking some out to thaw right now! I cooked the collards with neck bones. Can't remember what else.

I make mine in an 8 quart pot and add two tablespoons of white vinegar to it, of course you would reduce it if you are cooking smaller quantities. It also removes the bitterness.

Will give it another try this summer ☺

I cook collards with smoked ox tail or smoked buffalo turkey wings. Or just lots of bacon. They need the meat fat and the vinegar - and some red pepper flakes. Eat-out collards have lots of sugar added!

I don't have access to smoked meat, but do have bacon. Can I just put the bacon in raw and let it simmer, or do I need to crisp it first?

I like to cook it first, so that you get the browned flavor.
