depends on your priorities. If for run and walk, shoes should have hills, if workout with overweight - split shoes.
I prefer medium foot hold and a slight degree of heel floor, Nike Air is one of those models

Whatever you decide invest in a great comfy WALKING shoe if walking and RUNNING shoe for running- I have had my ASICS for over 5yrs now- I bought during their sale for $70.00 (better than half price) best investment in my health I doubled my exercise routine!!!
# may be psychological however it worked for me!!!

When I was 138kg I got one that paired up with my phone so I can see how many steps I did and how long each stride was.

Even my GoWalks from Sketchers are very comfortable, I've found that my Nike's or Puma's that are specifically made for walking, actually hug my foot better for walking. They seem more controlled in not letting you foot, ankle and toes just twist and turn in all directions thus having more control. Sometimes with loser shoes, they might even be wider shoes and even though they are comfy for walking around the shops etc they might not be so good for your feet
