YAY!!!!! Christmas week has ended for the Postal Service....until the returns start up, but I am pleased to say that I had no sad faces leave my Post Office today! I called everyone who had packages arrive today to make sure they knew they had arrived and I stayed open an extra half hour to allow the ones who had been working to pick up their packages. Everyone got their packages and I had NO ONE upset or disappointed because something failed to arrive. I am so pleased, there is nothing more frustrating for a rural postal employee than having to tell a friend/customer that an item they were counting on arriving, did not make it.

My dinner menu for tomorrow is all ready to go and me and Mom agreed that we were going to keep to our Keto guidlines as much as possible. We are having smoked ham, fresh greens, fresh green beans, roasted butternut squash and sweet potato casserole with butter, pecans, cinnamon and stevia :)

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas! May your day be filled with blessings and love!

Merry Christmas to you too! Dinner was great, I skipped the sweet potato casserole :( I did not put any on my plate at the beginning of the meal and by the time I was finished with what I had, I was full. I did not go back for more of anything. Unlike Thanksgiving, I was not going to be hurting myself. It was a great day!

Good for you! You planned ahead and kept to your plan. Christmas was just a little more sweeter as a result! LOL

Happy to hear that your mother has joined your diet...or is at least accepting of it now, as opposed to her reaction in the beginning of your journey. You are doing fantastic! So happy to hear that everyone received their packages and you ensured them all a happy Christmas. The post offices around here seem to suck the life out of people. It's sad...but it's noticeable as soon as you walk through the door. I've always wondered if they were like that before or if the job did it to them...

I am so sorry that you get that feeling at your Post Office, sadly enough, the civil service test and their scoring system picks out a certain type of people, and customer service skills were not nearly as important to the Old Postal service, they looked for focus and efficiency. I was well trained in Customer Service in the private sector and I bright it with me to the Postal Service. I engage my customers and I care about them, I greet them as they come through the door with a smile, I help them in every way I am allowed to and I try to make going to the Post Office a social thing instead of a chore. We laugh, we tell jokes, we look at baby pictures, we share pieces of the lives of our customers and everyone (for the most part) leaves smiling. That is the difference between a rural Post office and an urban one. It's also the difference between the Old Postal Service and the new one. They are now training and trying to instill good Customer Service skills in the current set of Postal Service Employees. Hopefully sometimes in the future you will be treated like a customer instead of an interruption or an annoyance.
