cmlynn's Journal, 19 April 2014

Today is one of those bittersweet weigh-in's. I'm super happy to be continuing to lose (sloooooowly) and I'm thrilled to be on this side of the 200 mark, but I'm now starting to get to those weights that were one time my "highest weight". You know, those times when you got on the scale and thought, "oh hell, I've never weighed this much" and then at some point you went sailing right past that point without a backward glance only to end up at the "oh crap I'm gonna die if I don't do something about this" point. A couple of times now I've weight myself, happy with the result, but also with the realization that at one time in the not so distant past I thought "now that's my highest weight ever" - surprise, it got worse. But I'm making progress, losing weight in a healthy way where I won't just turn around and gain it back, plus 10 or 20. The journey continues ...

Happy Easter to all my faithful and supportive FS friends. I could not make this journey without you

I was thinking that today. I always said shoot me if I ever go pass 150 than 200 and in a blink I was at 275 woke up April 1st and was like no more I am done.

Yup, I know just what you mean. Before I got married, I joined Weight Watchers because I had hit 149 and I was NOT going to EVER weigh more than 150. I lost 12 lbs. and was happy. Then I had my first child. Afterwards, 140 became the new normal. After the 2nd child, I got more active and was happy to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight much faster than with my first child. By the third, though, I decided I was never going to see 135 again. After nursing school, I got down to 155 while working out like crazy. I was happy until a back injury made exercise difficult. I don't even remember how I felt as 160, 170 and 180 flew by. All I know is that NO WAY was I going to go over the 200 mark. It is weird how those earlier promises to ourselves go by the wayside.
