I spent another two days without an internet connection. I was at Antelope Reservoir in Jordan Valley, Oregon. I had a long drive today and now I'm in Winnemucca, Nevada. We plan to be here for a few days before moving further south.
Photo Descriptions:
1) I took a long walk on the mud flats at Antelope Reservoir.
2) The mud flats stretch for miles. In wetter seasons they're covered by water.
3) Sprouts have started growing on some of the fertile mud, creating green patches on the landscape.
4) This is the view of the plains and mud flats that we had from our campsite. From here we could see antelope below, and even a coyote. Unfortunately, I couldn't get pictures because they were so far away. I could only see them with binoculars.
5) Our Campsite was on a hillside overlooking the reservoir and the plains.
6) I saw a spring white butterfly (Pontia sisymbrii) on rubber rabbitbrush blossoms (Ericameria nauseosa) on my walk.
7) This is the view from my current campsite in Winnemucca, Nevada.
8) Rocky Mountain Beeplant (Cleome serrulata) is growing right next to our campsite.
9) Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) are also growing right next to our campsite.
