Good morning!

DH comes home tonight. Been dying to try a new recipe - LC Alice Springs Chicken. Should go good with fresh broccoli. Of course everything goes good with fresh broccoli!

This will be day 5 of holding calories under 1350 with higher carb count (44 - 64 net carbs) due to adding apples and grapefruit. We'll see what kind of a weigh in I have tomorrow. If not good then I know exactly what I need to do. Like Sandy says - got to find my Sweet Spot.

The cold spell is still going strong. I bundled up yesterday and had an enjoyable walk just the same. Funny thing - had the whole park to myself. Guess there are benefits to cold weather.

Man, Buffy, you have the science down! Love the science. Don't know how you do it under 1350. Don't know how I used to have so much trouble making 1200 cals daily. Now, my protein calories are that high, much less food. Haha. The cold spell is wicked and so hard to help keep exercise in check. It'll be gone before we know it though and then we'll wish we hd done more while we were cold. Boo. you're doing great, though. Congrats.

Ruth - you are right about the season. Think I come out of the Holidays shell shocked and have to ease into the fact that spring will really be here (along with shorts, etc.) so my winter vacation is over.

Heather - I cannot take credit for the science - the food diary makes it so easy. I remember the "bad old days" trying to look up foods in a pocket guide book and then writing everything down in a notebook - and adding it up by hand!

Buffy, it's actually pretty funny how people go into hibernation mode when the temperature dips a bit....or a lot. It's lots warmer here, overall, but the other day, when the temps were in the low 40's we saw NOT ONE other person outside on our walk! No walkers, no joggers, no cyclists, etc. No one working outside, either. Just a very few souls going by in a couple cars. Made me wonder what I might be missing????? LOL!
