Dang cold. Came home from work yesterday, fully intending on working at home. Instead I put on my sweats, crawled into bed with my iPad, box of Kleenex, and a cup of chicken broth (which I traded out for herb tea later) and there I stayed. Oh ... I had to get up to put wood on the fire or let the dog outside to do his business but that was about it.

Woke up at 4 am and fed the fire again. Was up long enough to realize I shouldn't try to work today, at least not outside of the house. Went back to bed and now it is 7 am, 8.4 degrees outside, and I still feel tired! But I do think maybe the cold is abating a bit. Lets hope so!

So yesterday I had 2 cups of low sodium chicken broth, water, two juices I made (one a cleansing tonic with beets carrots apple lemon spinach I think, the other a green juice with kale spinach broccoli apple celery) and one egg on a thinwich. That's it. Scale is still stalled. I think it must be the virus. Just frustrating.

So if I feel up to it today I will work on a couple of reports I brought home. If not I will doze, nap, play on the computer and rest up. Think I will make myself a morning juice for breakfast. Something to burn this cold outta me! Hope everyone else is well. I do have room for a few more Rudolph's in my club though if you are interested in joining! LOL!

Grateful ....

For my new juicer arriving yesterday .... I'm anxious to try it out this morning
Warm fire on a frosty morning
Kleenex and emergen-c ( yes, again!)
My iPad. How cool is that I can take it to bed with me?!?!
Sick pay. Sometimes having a state job really is a good thing.

Onward I go, practicing kindness, self care, and ever so imperfectly ... Patience.

Cold sounds sucky. Terrible way to start a year. Gla you're home today. Glad for the new juicer. Fabulous way to start a new year. Feel better, friend.

Just used the new juicer. Very easy! Love it! Quick clean up too! Scale did budge a little. Just under 215. January 17th marks the beginning of my 5th year on Fatsecret! Crazy! 5 years of paying closer attention to my health. That's good. Even if I am heavier than I'd like to be.

Okay. Reality check ladies and gents. When I "woke up from my junk food junkie coma" I weighed in at 231.6 ... that was in November ... before Thanksgiving. Since that time I have dropped 16.8 lbs. I lost a little before Thanksgiving but was at 231.2 I think after ... so since then I've lost 16 some odd pounds????? Now that ain't bad at all. Seems like I lose sight of the big picture and instead focus on the day-to-day ... wow.

How awesome that you were able to take back control of your eating, Mad! I am so proud of you and knowing you are having fun with your new food juicer, too. I used to have one, but I think we got rid of some of my cool kitchen gadgets when we moved here. I had so much stuff to move, that we were exhausted and were questioning if things were needed or even ever used? LOL! I only need it when it's gone, ya know. LOL! Happy you are doing so well and hope that you get over your "cold" or "detoxing" with your juices. WTG!!!!
