See first live snake on the road today. The bad brakes on the bicycle me stop only a couple of yards from it. Thought I need to back up, but see the snake did not care about me. It was busy crossing the road very cautiously. It moved a short bit, lifted the head to look around. Repeatedly for a minute or so. Looked like it knew crossing the road is dangerous. By the time it was aslmost half way over, it sensed a car coming from the other direction, and quicly returned to the side it came from.

marylaz321 I was thinking it was smart too. Knowing that agressive snakes is super rare, I felt comfortable being close. I worry a bit about getting too close though. Consider getting a new bike with better breaks.

Nature is great! I saw a black whip snake on a walk near the falls. He saw me and took off under the wooden steps. You leave them alone, usually they will leave you alone. A walking stick or mace though is good to have always.

Indigo78 A stick sound wise. See people who walk along the road here sometimes carry a stick too. Wish I knew what name of this one. Kind of hope I get to see one again, to pick up details. Like you say, nature is great.
