The idea of extended fasting is scary to some people, but probably the healthiest thing a person can do.

How about the muscle density? Do you eat alot of protien when you get back on track abd work out to ensure that muscle mass isn't detrimental? You can lose alot of fat and muscle that way, It just doesnt come across to me as a healthy alternative to weight loss. How does the skin's elasticity handle malnurishment? How does the body physiologically and psychologically decay and heal during these processes?Does it damage the brain and if so, how much? Can we recover from that and are we capable of noticing the changes that happen from it? Very scary indeed. I did the research and fasting is good for surgery if you Have to lose the weight for surgery.

Look up Dr. Jason Fung, "What is intermittent fasting?" on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIhhrYjVhOk

As Dr. Fung says, fasting is an ancient discipline. It's voluntary and interspersed with periods of healthy eating, not involuntary "starvation" or "malnourishment." Doing some reading/YouTubing on the subject is very enlightening.
