It was 84 degrees when I started walking this AM and mostly cloudy, but then the sun came out and warmed it up to 90 degrees by the time I finished!
Dogs got a heat-shortened walk of just less than a mile, but I trudged on for the full 3.3 miles. My laundry pile grows really fast in this heat.
Just for today....no nut butters and no peanuts, Atkins bar is OK.
I battled hunger yesterday and decided there was nothing sacred about waiting to have my salad with dinner. DUH!! So, I had it in mid- to late afternoon and it helped immensely. I was planning on having garden tomatoes with dinner anyway, so the meal wasn't going to end up being just meat anyway.
I may have to try that again today, although my hunger seems to be under control - for the moment!
Focus, focus, focus...all food, all actions count! There is no hiding.

Sandy, I am so proud of you. You need to rub off on me some how...Hahaha I love a salad in the middle of the day..before supper.
That reminds me I need to fix some..Have a great evening....Bren

Hi Sandy, I do that too! I spread out my lunch at work somedays to keep the hunber monster at bay. If I get home from work, starving, I have my salad pretty darn quick & that takes a huge edge off the appetite! Then dinner is meat & a side veggie, followed by an Atkins treat later. I just love your never quit attitude! No hiding, it ALL counts - you are so right!

Bren, we can both cheer each other on, as we both have the ability, hands down, to do this! Have a good afternoon!

GG-Girl, sounds like you've got a pretty good lunch plan, there. How's the swimming going? Any Olympic trials in your future?

Carole, I've also been getting a bit light-headed in this heat and humidity. I just TRY to go when it's cooler, although I admit to not being able to summon the discipline to get up at 5 or 6 to be walking by 7. Just not a morning person. But, I also make sure I eat something a bit salty before I go (cheese stick) and I try to drink as much water as possible, without getting sloshy!! Then, like when I got back today, I also drink a lot of water and heat up the chicken broth ASAP. I also take various supplements which supply some of the minerals I sweat out.

Sandy, I understand that feeling, and have decided that I won't do it anymore....I will eat pickles, olives, a little cheese, a slice of ham, but I won't sit there and be hungry...if I don't eat a little something, it is all I think about! Glad that you got your walk in, I did a shortenend one last night as it was really warm and humid. "SULTRY" in my best "momma" voice! lol But I will be doing it again tonight...hopefully the temps and humidity will not be too bad (dreaming, aren't I?) lol You are doing fabulous! Have a wonderful evening!

No worries, BuffyBear. I still LOVE the stuff (ALL flavors!!) and plan to work it in - WITH portion control - in the future.

You're right Stef, no one should be on a program that keeps them hungry! I just need to find the right alternatives and be sure I'm truly hungry and not just looking for food out of habit or a craving. Hope you get some cooling breezes for your walk tonight!

Sandy you work so hard! I am glad to see your effort was rewarded with another pound. I understand the hunger. I work as an assistant at an elementary school and due to my schedule must eat lunch at 10:30 in the morning. When I get home at 3:00 I am hungry with dinner at least 2 hours away. I need a snack and a substantial one! I have been all natural peanut butter and celery, but like you I think it has been slowing weight loss. I plan on having it less often. Today I tried babybel cheeese and celery and it was okay.

Thanks Lisa. Some days, I haven't even had breakfast by 10:30, let alone lunch! (I have that cheese snack early, though, prior to walking.) Babybel cheese is good and I know for me, at least, it would be a whole lot safer than peanut butter! Are you off for the summer, then?

The last day of school here is June 21. I am hoping that getting up a little later, 730 instead of 630 and eating all meals just a bit later will help me be a bit less hungry!
