Not really intending to maintain here but that is what's been going on for the last few weeks. After my all-time low on 10/12, I crept up nearly 10 lbs. So I took the reins again and combined more rigorous tracking to a lower daily intake (I was routinely taking in > 2000 with more than half of that after 7pm and I cut back to the 1200 to 1400 range). As temperatures have fallen to <40F here, I shifted my all outdoor biking routine to a bit of outdoor plus spinning plus walking with Ms.G. That's done the trick and got me back to within sight of my low. Its also encouraging to see that I can actually manage my weight this way and suggests that maintenance will be possible.

While my 2021 focus was 100% on losing weight, which I certainly did, this coming year I will focus on improving my overall fitness, strength and conditioning while continuing to work toward losing this last 20 lbs. I've had a Peloton for about a month and from what I've seen so far, it can take me much further than over the road biking. I want to add some weight training to develop strength and toning in my upper body. As I've note before, I have oodles of empty skin that could use filling with some muscle. I doubt I will ever invest in the surgeries needed to recover a "normal" physique, even though the net result would include about a 30-lb additional weight loss.

Enjoy this Friday after Thanksgiving FS family. Make it, log it, eat it, and live it!

Do it, DO IT!!!! I don’t know why I needed to yell Flashback to high school or something. great job, honestly. I’m going to jump in the pool. It’s still windy, but going to try moving the umbrellas to block it since it’s coming from the north.

Do you get competitive with the other riders? Just curious.

Katsolo. From this year's outdoor riding (1635 miles as of today), I thought I was pretty fit. My first few randomly selected Peloton rides quickly showed me I was barely above the bottom rung on the fitness ladder. I found it hard to do what the instructors were asking for. Now 26 rides in, I can see improvement. Still, I've got a long way to go before I'd consider joining a live ride and trying to work my way up the leaderboard.

that's awesome, and I'm glad you shared your before/after so we can all recognize what a huge accomplishment that actually is. I swam yesterday, and it was good, but am definitely going to have to fight my way back to where I was. proud of you, dude

I invested in the Nordic Track smart bike right around when Covid but hard here in NY. I had the iFit membership for a year and it was amazing. Looking back i think I should have gotten the Peloton instead because it's a hell of a lot sturdier and can really take hard pedaling. Enjoy your machine!

Good for you and your Maintenance plan - that is what I am facing - once I knock off the last 23-24 pounds - and I had planned on doing the same thing but did not find anyone else to verify it - I plan on watching continually to ensure that there is no upward swing - and as soon that starts to appear - then to knock the CI back to 1100 - until it corrects itself. Thanks for the "reassurance".
