On September 14th of 2015, exactly one year ago today, I made the decision to work on my weight one last time. I was at one of my highest weights ever, a staggering 303 pounds. Every attempt of weight loss in the past had ended in frustrating failure, and I was at the point of contemplating weight loss surgery as I didn't believe that I could do it on my own. But what I didn't know was that I could.
I said a quick prayer this morning as I was getting on my scale, thanking God for the motivation and determination that He has placed on my heart in this area of my life. I was absolutely ecstatic when I opened my eyes and looked down to see the number 187 staring back at me. 187 pounds!
I have lost a total of 116 pounds over the past year. My pant size has gone from a 24 to a 12 and my shirts from a 3X down to a medium. I was really excited this afternoon when I was able to put on a pair of my husband's pants, which is something that I haven't been able to do since we were first married. My husband even commented about how tight those pants were on him, which made this accomplishment all the sweeter. I was even able to wear my 12 year old daughter's size small shirt to church on Sunday. Best of all, this is my lowest weight since I was 17.
As excited as I am about my accomplishments over this past year, I know that my journey is not over yet. This is just the first chapter of my weight loss story. I still have some weight to lose, and then I will move on to the phase of toning, tightening, and building muscle. As I learn, I will continue to evolve each phase of this journey.
I know that I have not been on here as much lately, but please know that I truly appreciate the advice and support from those of you here on the FS site. My success is your success. I thank all of you for your role in my journey and for the constant love that I get from all of you.
