This is a good sign at the outset. I will try very hard not to follow these numbers daily and only do a weekly weigh-in.
I'm trying really hard to fight the despair that floods me when I step on the scale. I see the dial spin past 200 without even slowing down and I think "what's the point?"
And I know what the point is. But that feeling of hopelessness is really hard to fight.

Don't give up! 2 lbs down is moving in the right direction. Your not standing still and your not going backwards. I too felt like what's the point, but as I saw a few more lbs come off it gave me the push I needed to keep going. You can do this, you have lots of support right here on the great site!

Don't give up, you can do this, the more weight we lose the better we will feel, I'm a 200+ also and very determined to beat this

Stick with it and soon you will dip down under the 200 mark. It's your future you are working for, so use everyone for support!

I have to tell myself this all the time, "have patience." Your weight is going to come off if you put the effort in. One day you may lose no pounds, and the next day two. Stay strong!

I'm so there with all of you! Never in my life would I believe I could weigh more than - or anywhere close to - 200 lbs. Its killing me! I was bulimic & anorexic for many years and had to work through those issues but this weight could drive me back there if I do not make healthy choices and really lose the weight. I am 5'9" so people are surprised at my weight as I look and feel good at 168 lbs. That number is just so far away. I need to do this (she says as she drinks her 3rd bottle if water today)! WE CAN ALL do this!

You are all very supportive, and I really appreciate it. I suspect that with a support community I will be better about all of this, and I will have something to look at when I want to chuck it all. You are all much appreciated.

Life is a process and this is just part of it. You are eating healthy and that will last a lifetime. You will feel so much better and then it all falls into place. I look forward to celebrating with you when you drop below that dreaded mark of 200 lbs!
